UPDATE: For the sake of peace in my home I took major responsibility last night for what happened. I went out there and said...

"I know you are really upset with me BUT my number 1 goal is to provide that baby with a safe happy environment. I know I have fear, anxiety, and control issues but while I look deep inside myself to work on them I could really use your support instead of you internalizing what I say and taking it personally. I want to work on being a better person for me and for her and I will do it with or without you."

In my head I was thinking "I would really like for us to return to counseling together" yet I don't think that's the message I sent Chat Icon

I don't car as long as it's not a war zone or awkward tension in the house.

I thank you all for your support and keeping me sane Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

DH and I have always been constant arguers, we are both stubborn, the arguing has gotten different since DD has been put in the mix, I have major control issues and he knows it...
I think voicing your concerns is a natural thing for a mother to do, and you're response was perfect, as a man, and as someone that was raised by parents he needs to understand that is what you're doing, and I've explained that to DH, I think your explanation was a good one, and I'm so sorry that you're going through this...I do think at the RIGHT time you should bring up counseling again, personally I think his reaction was uncalled for, and I think his reaction is stemming from the underlying issuesChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Annie-I guess I must have missed this yesterday. I can tell you that I have had this conversation with my DH as I am sure every other Mom in the world has. We all have a priority(and a biological and evolutionary needChat Icon ) to protect our children. I did read your update and I have to say you are definitely being the bigger personChat Icon

I would have said the same thing. And my DH also might have replied with similar sentiments...like, what am I stupid? But regardless I would say it. Chat Icon

maybe sit down and reassure him that you don't think he's a horrible father, that you are just trying to help and maybe try to phrase things better UNLESS you really think she is in harms way with him (only you know this). He probably felt "you crossed a line" b/c there was a lot of build up...

IMO the worst thing you can do is to not sit down and express how you feel.

DH & I have had a few issues when it came to DS which led to fights, you are not alone but talking (not yelling) works best. I had to cool off for a few hours before actually talking.

I did not raise my voice at ALL he just sat there yelling at me saying F every other word and when I asked him to stop he just said he didn't care. It was awful.

I would have told him to pack an over night bag and go to his mothers for a few days

Sorry but he sounds like an azz

I agree.
I trust DH... thats not the point at all.

I would not let him take DC on a boat without me though. Nope.

I'm sorry I gave this another thought but based upon your other posts in sounds like he is just looking for reasons to place blame on you. He sounds desperate to start arguments.

stay strong..
