I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!UPDATE ON RETRIEVAL
I cant believe I am going to post this but I have to.. I am having the worst anxiety attack ever..
Last night at 12:30am I had to do my HCG shot.. my retrieval is on monday at 12noon.. Ok here it goes.....
Dh and I were at a wedding and we got home just in time for the shot.. i did the shot and we went to bed.. All of the sudden we started fooling around  and we had sex!!! What a freakin idiot  I am flipping out!!! there are about 9 eggs there and I dont know what to do.. I am so stupid.. i hate my guts right now I cant stop freaking out about this.. I am not telling my Dr because he may cancel.... Please help me calm down!!
UPDATE: Ok I had 5 eggs that were retrieved I guess the others wouldn't come out of the follicle!! I guess I should be hapy with that # but I wish there were more  .. But I did promise myself I am going to be optomistic so I will update tomorrow how many fertilize! Thanks for all the support ladies
UPDATE # 2
4 eggs were mature.. he is calling to let me know how many fertilized...  PLEASE GOD BLESS MY EGGS!!!!!!
UPDATE #3.... 4 FERTILIZED  My DH and I just went to St Raymonds in East Rockaway and lit 4 candles.. One for each embryo!! Please Lord let them live!! just 2 more days !!! PLEASE!!!

If you're doing ICSI, try not to worry too much about it.
It's already done. So try to relax as much as possible before the retrieval. ( I know we all hate the word "relax")

I really don't think its a problem b/c the eggs need to be ovulated (released from the follicle) in order to fertilize. When they do the retrieval they suck the eggs out of the follicles just before ovulation. That's why they do the shot and retrieval at a certain time - before ovulation. So There really aren't any eggs to fertilize at this point.
BTW I'm having my transfer on Monday so it looks like we'll be in the dreaded 2ww together. GL on Monday.

What are your issues that you need IVF? I mean think about the chances of getting Pg naturally? Are they low?

Yes probably 13% with the IVF.. But you never know there are 9 eggs there ! WHY AM I SO DUMB!!!!! I feel like beating the sh$t out of my husband.. He was so annoying that's why i gave in!! No excuse though it was my responsibilty and i accept that!! I hate how i feel right now!

Trust me the eggs will not release tonight. Everything is timed w/ IVF. Also if the eggs release BEFORE your retrieval then you are screwed b/c they can't retrieval the eggs from the follicle. The egg will be gone. The egg must be IN the follicle for your RE to take them out. The egg must be OUT of the follicle for fertilization. As long as the egg is in the follicle you are safe.

OMG OMG OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.... i AM FALLING ON THE FLOOR RIGHT NOW IN MY ROOM.. But just one more question.. How can IUI's then be timed? I thought the egg was there when they do that procedure? and i do the HCG shot the day before? My dr says the eggs are there..

YOur RE cannot really tell how many eggs they will retrieve until the day of the retrieval. Which is why they wait til the follicles are ripe (fully devoloped) before retrieval. It is likely that you will have 9 eggs, but he won't know until the day of.

Well he can see the follicles and he counted 9 so far.. hopefully they have eggs in them.. but my issue is that i am afraid the eggs are getting fertilized before they come out because of what I did.. But now mojosmom says they are still in the follicle when they are retrieved which doesn't seem to make sense to me.. Isn't the HCG shot supposed to release them within 12-48 hours?? so they could be releasing right now!! KWIM????

the eggs must DROP out of the ovaries and start moving towards the uterus to be impregnanted with the sperm.
If that has happened, your cycle would be cancelled.
They take the eggs from your ovaries. So the timing is off. you would need to have sex the day they drop ( or day before or after) and since your doing IVF, you can be assured that timing is not NOW and you are safe.
The sperm can live up to 5 days but the eggs will be taken OUT before then.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. You did the HCG shot and that is timed for 36 hours, so the chances of you dropping an egg to be fertilized is very slim. With the shot, you will not be releasing an egg on your own right now. I honestly believe you are perfectly fine.
Also, wishing you much luck and I am keeping you in my thoughts.

With an IUI they are not looking to take the egg out of the follicle. They just want to "time insemination" with the release of the egg from the follicle. With IVF they go in BEFORE ovulation to retrieve the egg. They need to give you the HCG shot b/c it helps "loosen the egg's attachment from the follicle wall" and they can retrieve the egg. Trust me nothing will fertilize and your are fine.

Seriously, nothing to worry about. Your eggs should not release. Trigger would release your eggs in 36 hours if you were doing an IUI, which you are not and you most likely used something to suppress you from ovulating (right? lupron or ganirelix). They go in and get your eggs from the follicles. Sperm stay in the fallopian tube or uterus, which you are not using right now. Once an egg is fertilized and put back in you (1) they are fertilized and so to speak closed for shop (2) there is a theory floating around that sperm in the uterus is good for implantation. And on the other end they usually want your DH to abstain for min of 2 days which it will be about that.
Go do some meditation breathing and calm your nerves down.

Thank you so much ladies.. I cant believe this.. i feel so horrible.. I sware I can feel the eggs dropping and the sperms shooting in!!! I am driving myself crazy! Dont they tell you not to have sex before? Mine didn't this time but they did the last time
