I am having trouble finding a part time job
I have applied at a number of retail places and I haven't even gotten one call for an interview.
I didn't think it would be so hard, does anyone have any suggestions?

What are you listing as your hours of availability? I know people who had trouble finding retail jobs if they were only available limited hours.
Also, do you have education/professional experience in other areas?
Reason I ask, is I know several people who after they had kids, wanted to just get a basic job working in retail, but listed the fact that they had a Master's degree and held all kinds of high-powered positions on the application.
Places wondered why they were applying and likelihood of their sticking around...........

I used to work in retail...this was the time of year we started cutting back big time - major skeleton crew. The holidays are the biggest time retail is hiring.
Good luck in finding something.

Thanks, Rocky Point is a bit far for me.
I am looking for part time work in addition to my regular job. I do have a masters and work in the corporate world. Maybe I should stop giving this info? I have been putting my availability as nights and weekends, which I thought is what they all want.
I worked in retail for almost 10 years. I remember them always hiring, the turnover was so high all the time.

Have you thought about teaching for Kaplan? It's a part time job, pays better than retail, and we encourage people from the corporate world as the students love their experience.
