Whenever I hear that I think of people saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck -- it just seems like something to make those of us with ms feel better (though I'm sure there is some science behind it)

That morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Ok, well I had NONE... does that mean mine ISN'T healthy????
I've read it, heard it on the news just about every day now. Thanks for making me paranoid now!!!!
Thank you
If it makes you feel any better, this is my 2nd pregnancy and I haven't had morning sickness for EITHER!! So screw what the news and people say!!!!
My son was healthy and I'm sure my daughter will be too!!
Exact same thing with me. None with either and my son was as healthy as could be when he was born.

Re: I am just so sick of hearing... *vent*
As a MS sufferer the science behind it according to my doctor is that my hormone levels are high and its a sign of a healthy pregnancy in my case. I think when you dont have MS it can be annoying for someone to say it to you because it can put unecessary fear into you so I can see both sides. However there are some cases where a sign of no MS is not good but usually thats when you are having hormonal issues with the pregnancy and your doc would let you know so just ignore people-thats just like people saying eat crackers and MS would get better

Re: I am just so sick of hearing... *vent*
I know many people who had no m/s and they had completley healthy pregnancies...
let me tell you though, when you are incapacitated by m/s, the way I was, it did make me feel better hearing that!!

Re: I am just so sick of hearing... *vent*
I had terrible m/s with my first. I was also sick a lot. She came out healthy.
I had NO m/s with my second. I had 3 colds the entire 9 months. He came out healthy as well.
It is NO indication at all.

My dr told me that its not a wives tale, your hormones are so high to support the preg that you get sick, but she also said no MS means a healthy baby as well...believe me you dont want this!!! I just came back from the hospital for dehydration...uggggg

i think MS is a sign of healthy PG, but the lack there of is a sign of nothing..
Meaning if you are having MS thats usually a sign.. but if you are not.. it doesn't mean you aren't. It doesn't mean anything.
In other words, either way doesn't mean whether you are having a healthy baby or not. So why say it? That's why it annoys me.. because it's unnecessary to say.
To make the women who are suffering feel better.
