Personally, I agree with you on the vaccine opinion but more specific to this situation I have to say that if the parent's knew this child had the chicken pox...or even if they had some indication that the child wasn't well they were wrong to bring them into a public childcare facility - that aggrivates me to no end. I understand that it might have been discovered after the fact...and in that regard it's unfortunate (coming from a daycare mom who long ago gave up that battle) but the delay to tell you for over a week is messed up.
that your little ones don't get it.
ETA: You might want to question the facility about how they sterilized the room and toys before bringing your kids back.
I agree

I'd be ****** too, I hope your little ones don't contract it
And on the vaccine note, a 20% chance of contracting a disease that can harm my child is def worth it to me. And CP can do even more damage to a teenager and an adult if they don't contract it as a kid. I was MISERABLE with chicken pox as a kid and some of my family members got it so bad they still have scars from it=my cousins throat almost closed cause she had so many in there. My DH had them on his eyelids. It's awful! So 20%, YES the odds in my FAVOR for my kids.

Here's what my doctor told me - children under a year have their mother's immune system, so, if you had the chicken pox, it is unlikely your infant will get them. That is why they wait until 1 year to give it to children. Hope that helps, a litte.

ITA. I can't see someone knowing that their child has chicken pox and bringing them to the nursery at the gym. It's not like a cold.
I agree with this. I think the issue is more that the parent "knowingly" brought a sick child to the daycare, not the vaccine issue. Especially with the CP, you don't know if the child was vaccinated or not. I hope your babies are OK

I really hope everyone stays healthy. I know you're upset, but, honestly, you chose to drop your 8-month old preemie twins off at a gym daycare -- that's a risk you take. I'm really leery of gym daycares -- too many kids in and out -- who knows what they could pick up.

I know you are worried, but you really can't blame the parents. I have never had the chicken pox, even though my siblings and friends did growing up. So before getting pregnant I had 2 chicken pox injections and STILL I was told when I had all my pregnancy bloodwork that I have no immunity towards the disease. So even though I did what I had thought was the best thing, it was useless. Plus my niece who had the injections also, ended up with a mild case at one point. It just isn't 100% against c/p. So you don't know the situation behind it. I'm sure the parent with the child who has it is more upset right now and her hands are full. You can't prevent everything and hopefully your babies will not be affected.

THere's always a risk of contracting illness in day to day life. I don't think the parents are to blame. What if it happened at a Gymboree or library program? It's the risk we all take to bring our children to places where they are in close proximity to other kids.
