Re: I am seriously about to let my 3.5 month old CIO
Posted by Porrruss I feel there is a HUGE difference between CIO and letting a baby fuss for a few minutes. I think the reason Eliza is SUCH a better sleeper than Mads is because she was not picked up immediately when she fussed- because most times I was dealing with her big sister.
DITTO!
I hope that extra 2 oz helps her stay asleep for you tonight

I think the extra bottle might help. I want to think that she thinks its a nap because my DD has done that a few times.
My DD fights the swaddle as well if she's not FULLY asleep when I try to swaddle her. Why don't you rock her a little longer (or whatever you do to get her to sleep), another 10-15 mins before you put the swaddle around her. Maybe this will prevent her from waking herself up from fighting to get out and also so you don't have to top her off again...
Also, my 3mo isn't going to bed until 930-10pm and STTN until 6 or 7. Maybe if she naps THEN you do your night routine, top her off at that point, rock her to sleep, swaddle her and see what happens!

LB - have you tried feeding her at that point and she refuses?
She just had a 5 oz bottle, she is definitely not hungry.
Well, the reason I'm asking is because Tyler used to have a full bottle, and then an hour later have another couple of ounces. I know he's a big boy but it happened ALOT.
DH said the same thing... he is in there giving her another bottle, I hope that's it. Thanks.
I used to always top him off at this time of night.
Even now - some days (4 out of 7) he gets a full 7 ounce bottle at 4:30/5 and then another 6 ounces at 6pm. He sucks it dry too!
DD is the same way. I feed her then an hour later she wants more, I top her off and she goes down for the night. 9-630 usually. Its like she is stocking up for a long sleep. If she does wake after a little while its because she has a big burp or some spit-up brewing. She will be 3 mos on 7/9. Good luck LB!

sounds like a good plan! Keep us posted. Tyler started going to bed at 6pm at around 6 months!
