i got a solution. Rachel offered to watch Olivia for a couple hours since we are heading in her direction and will be about 20 minutes away. Rachel has been absolutely awesome and a true friend. When DH couldnt pick me up from the airport she offered to come and get me and I could write a book about how much of a friend she is. Thanks ladies for all your well wishes and advice.
i am not going to ask my mil to watch the baby anymore and i am not going to make the effort to invite her over she has to want to see the baby. im done kissing her aZZ and im done with trying to be the doting dil. those days are over im married over 3 years and if i dont put my foot down now then she will continue to show she has no time for her son and granddaughter.

 She's a strange bird, that MIL of yours! And she was never like this when we were growing up, so I have no idea what's gotten into her. She used to be my mother's best friend, and it really makes me sad to see her acting like this
As for watching Olivia, anytime you need me, you know I'll help out! You'd do it for me, so how could I not do it for you?
We're so excited to have her here! My mom is dying to see Olivia, and the girls will have SO much fun playing together!

I think the most infuriating part of this whole thing is that your DH actually thinks you are overreacting. I'm sorry but I would be SO p!ssed at your MIL.
I'm so sorry your MIL was so inconsiderate and unreliable.
I agree, and I hope you find a sitter!

I can't believe that!! DON'T say you are going to watch your DC and than go away. She should have told you right away if there was a problem with the date. That is totally inexcusable. I would have been immature about it and yelled at her. OR I would have asked her for the money I'm losing. Your DH is wrong, you're not over reacting!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find someone else to watch her.
Of course your DH is going to stick up for her, but he should be on YOUR side!!!
