Re: I don't know why, but I get upset....
I think that every woman is entitled to her own opinion about how she is liking her pregnancy. There are SO many different experiences shared on here and some of them make me think, "I'm lucky I'm not experiencing that!" or "Why meeeeee?"
I think that or at least hope that we are ALL grateful for what God has blessed us with, but also think that it is totally natural and OK to complain about stretch marks that are unsightly, a bump that is so heavy it hurts, discoloration of the skin to the point that it looks like you have a freakin' full mustache (yeh, that's me!) and/or whatever other funky pregnancy-related issue comes up!

Re: I don't know why, but I get upset....
I am sorry if I offended anyone. Please know that my intention was not to do so. I think everyone is taking my post out of context. I simply meant to say that there are preg. women who complain about their baby bump. My co-worker for example is pregnant, and developed a very cute baby bump. She complains all the time to everyone that she feels disgusted, and she hates her bump. I do get a little upset about that. Anyhow, I never implied that it upsets me to hear preg. women talk or complain about their discomforts. I have a few discomforts of my own, so of course we are going to complain about that.

Totally agree.
I am happy to be pregnant again. It took 3 long hard years and I am grateful but it is hard on my body and I hate that.
I love the way I look pregnant. I have never felt more beautiful BUT I also hate the freggin leg cramps, back ache, skin discoloration, and feeling like I am carrying a ton of bricks when I walk and feeling like its on my chest when I lay down. I complain about it to DH all the time.

Re: I don't know why, but I get upset....
Especially as a first time mother the experiences while pregnant can be quite shocking. I have to say, I didn't LOVE being pregnant. I thought my baby bump was "cute" but I was upset when I looked in the mirror because I didn't recognize myself. My DH thought I looked beautiful, I thought I looked fat. I longed to be able to do what I use to do, like tie my shoes, or walk up the stairs without being winded. I was very grateful and lucky to have a healthy pregnancy, but that doesn't mean I was feeling on top of the world all the time. The hormones, fears, and emotions running through your body while pregnany can at times make you feel irrational, but it is all worth it in the end!

You can hate being pregnant, and still be grateful for the experience at the same time -
just b/c you don't LOVE being pregnant and 'welcome' every single uncontrollable change to your body, doesn't mean you're not in awe of the process and thankful for every second. -
it just means you're not enjoying it ..........so what?

Like the other girls said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and has the right to vent if they want.
That being said it sounds to me like your coworker is just fishing for attention.

That may be just it! I think she just like to hear people tell her how she is not fat at all, and she looks beautiful!

who cares what she thinks or says. whats important is how YOU feel about your own pregnancy. she has the right to complain and hate her bump and that doesnt mean that shes ungrateful either. At the early stages of my pregnancy, i didn't really enjoy my bump and felt it was more of a bulge and my clothes didnt fit right and i just felt "blah" even though everyone else said i looked "cute". but i just didn't feel cute AT ALL. as my bump developed, i began to enjoy it more. it could have been hormones or just adjsuting to pregnancy or whatever, but it was my personal feeling on my personal bump and no one could understand how i felt but me. that doesnt mean i am any less grateful for my beautiful baby girl.

Re: I don't know why, but I get upset....
I hate the fact that I gained weight & look fat (yes...that early bump to me looks like fat).
I try very hard & succeed at maintaining a healthy/slim weight and love my figure. It's depressing when you can't wear anything that you own.
I HAD a very hard time getting pregnant... and would have given a limb to have a kid, so I understand it's part of the "deal" (and wouldn't have it any other way)...but it is not something I "savor". Neither is breathing hard, visible veins, ect.
