Re: I feel like we are trapped with this house, what can we do?(walking away after the inspection)
So we just heard from our attorney, he emailed us a letter saying that sellers are not going to fix anything at all and we can cancel the contract if we want. BUt once again he got into whole oh this is a good deal conversation. I DON'T CARE!!! WE DON'T WANT THE HOUSE!!! Hopefully it doesn't become a problem. OH and I asked how much he is going to charge us for all he's done(which is whole lot of craaaap, sorry) and he said, "I don't know , I have to think about it and I will let you know" One thing is for sure HE IS FIRED once everything if finalized. Thank you so much everyone for all your support and well wishes and FMs I really appreciate it so much.

OK, first of all this guy is supposed to work for YOU... not only should FIRE him, but I would immediately report him to the Bar. Does this man have a personal interest in this house? He should be 1. Executing your wishes accordingly and 2. not trying to influence the purchase of a house (he is not a RE). His job is to execute the contracts as you direct him to. REPORT HIM. What a J-off.

One last piece of advice..don't pay him anything. Let him know that his practices were questionable at best and he would be lucky if you don't report him for strong arm tactics.
He should go into another biz, like selling cars.

just so you don't feel like you got screwed by signing a contract before inspection, it's standard in NJ to sign the contract first and then you usually have a certain amount of days to have the inspection completed if desired. That should be stated in the contract, but your contract should also definitely have a contingency clause regarding the results of the inspection. You should check and see what yours says. I'll FM you the info of the attorney we used.
I was going to say the same thing.
I also have a an attorney and we used him while we were in NY.
