I had to take mine off about a week ago too. It was nice for a while after the wedding but now it is a saving a few extra dollars a month.

I took my fake nails off years ago and never looked back. I love being in and out of the nail salon in less than 30 minutes. FYI: Buy some NailTek...they sell it in CVS and in the nail salon too. It makes your nails incredibly strong.

I know how you feel! just make sure to use Nailtiques formula 2 or something like it or your nails will break, unless you keep them short. especially now that the air is so dry, you need a hardener.

I also had silk wraps for 7 yrs and LOVE saving all that $$ and time. I do my own nails most of the time. I seriously save A lot of $$$!!!!!!!!

I tried once and HATED the way my nails looked...too many years of nail bitting made them look so gross. so its fake ones for me!

Re: I feel so liberated! No more fake nails!

I take a break from my fake nails every once in a while. Sometimes the break can last for a year, but I always know that I will get them again eventually. My nail salon is pretty quick and they last a long time. I usually go at a time when I really need a break from work anyway. When I have my natural nails my cuticles get very ragged, even with frequent manicures.

Good for you. I really do not like fake nails at all. I love the look of manicured, real nails-classic.

I remember when I took mine off. My nails are so strong now that I can actually grow them longer than what they were with the wraps.

Good for you & enjoy the mani's!!

Re: I feel so liberated! No more fake nails!

I had them for years- they got them again for my wedding- kept them about 6 months- then took them off

it was the best feeling- they were weak for a while- but once they grew out- they were fine

now I spend $6 for a manicure or do them myself - instead of $45 with tip 2 times a month!

Re: I feel so liberated! No more fake nails!

i'm getting mine off in a few weeks. i kept them after the wedding because i am in a wedding this coming saturday and want them to look nice. but it is such a hassle and an expense keeping up with them... esp since i have the perm french. they're going to be like paper when i get them off but still, i cannot wait to be free!
