I had biggest scare last night (kind of update on 2nd page)
Kara was rushed to the hospital last night. I was getting my son ready for his 1st day of school and she was crawling in his room.
She got a hold of one of a box and he put change in it. All of a sudden I look down and I see her and all this change. So I go and grab it and say to my son see this is dangerous and she starts gulping really hard thinking she swallowed a coin. So I'm in a complete panic. She vomits a little bit. Now she is not crying just gulping and like she couldn't catch her breath. I call 911 the ambulance gets here with like at least 10 people. Long story short. We were rushed to ER, they did x-ray and they do not see anything in there. They made her drink her bottle to see if she kept it down. My husband rushed to the hospital from work and he had tears in his eyes. He was crying. I've never see him cry. Thank god she is in her crib sleeping now but we have to get a hugh baby playpen and we really need to take a cpr class. I had no idea what to do with her and felt completely helpless.

We thought that she swallowed a coin, uggh I feel like sure a horrible mother and I told my DH to not tell his parents because I don't want his mother saying anything about me.

I am so glad she is ok!!!!!!
Andrew almost choked on a coin too. DH puts his chain in a jug and missed one day and Andrew found it. I saw him chewing on something and thank goodness caught it before it could go down. It is sooo scary.

My niece got the cap to poland spring bottle in her throat. My sister was able to get it out.

So glad she is ok. May I ask what was she choking on though, what made her gag and vomit? I would watch her poop for a few days just to be sure there isnt a dime or penny floating around

OMG how scary. DH's friend...his daughter swallowed a coin and had to go to the ER. They said to never try to get the coin up by the hymlic (sp?) because it can damage the esophagus or something. So scary, glad she's okay!

awwww...I can't even imagine how scary that was for you guys. And, your son must feel terrible for leaving it there 
We have this "Super Yard XT" from BRU. It is pretty big (actually takes up most of my living room, LOL), and Steven doesn't mind being in it.

You are far from a bad mother! You reacted quickly and properly- getting the right medical attention to your daughter. That is a GOOD mommy!!
An accident is an ACCIDENT and they happen everyday and could happenn to any of us. A loose coin is easily dropped.
