Thank you so much, everyone. I just got home a little while ago, and I'm definitely feeling much better. I was totally overwhelmed this morning, and having my mother come down on me at 6am was really the last straw. I had JT bring Ava to me at work today instead of leaving her with my mom the way we usually do on Tuesdays, and my mother got mad Basically, I told her that she needs time to herself to deal with whatever is bothering her, and that JT and I will be looking elsewhere to find help with Ava. She was grateful for that. Whatever. She's having a hard time right now, but I cannot be the one to keep her together and she cannot be the one to keep me together. So, we'll look to other people so that we can salvage our relationship.
I told JT to get in touch with my BIL today and see what the deal was in terms of finishing the work, and he's totally on board and is coming this entire weekend to work on the bathroom. I was at my sister's house for dinner tonight and my BIL told me that he's going to whip JT's behind into gear and that he gave him strict orders to meet him at Home Depot at 8am on Saturday. They have a really good relationship, and BIL knows how completely clueless JT is about anything involving hammers, or nails or power tools, so I think he took pity on us
So, I'm just glad that it's squared away.
I also spoke to some friends at work and basically delegated some work for my upcoming concerts and the musical. Hopefully it will lift the burden a bit.
I am truly, endlessly grateful to all of you. I really needed support today, and you all gave it to me without hesitation. While I don't know many of you personally, you're still some of the most generous, kind and wonderful women I've ever come across. I can't even begin to thank all of you have sent me FMs and responded here. Asking for help is something that really upsets me. I have a hard time with the thought of constantly taking and not giving back, but I took your advice and asked for help anyway. My cousin is coming to watch Ava on Friday so I can have rehearsal and perform for an event that night. As far as this weekend goes, I think JT and I will just try to manage Ava ourselves at the house and take turns painting the bedrooms.

Hi Rach,

I just saw this now, I am so sorry you are so stressed and hyave so much on your plate right now. I know how you feel, but please remmeber...it will pass. Things will get done at the house and everything will fall into place. In the meantime, I am back to work only PT so I am home some days....please FM me and let me know what times/days you need help with Ava. If I can, Id love to help - and Alyssa would love to hang with Ava!!!! Hugs.....FM me.

I just read this entire thread, I am so happy you are feeling much better and finding solutions. You are strong and the rock of the family!

ps. I know your dad will be just fine, my dad went through the exact same thing

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know nothing about plumbing but if you have other work that needs to be done (painting, etc), I'd be willing to help out if you need it. I am also sorry about your Dad. I hope things turn around for you all very soon. We're all here for you!

We're moving in to our house tomorrow and I know exactly how you feel about handing a child, home renovations, work, etc. It's unbelievably stressful and to add the stress of your father's illness and your mother is just too much.

It really sounds like you have a plan in place and it WILL work out - this time of year is so hard (I'm in education as well) and I really have no advice - just hang in there!
