I know I will probably get flamed...but I cant stand feeding my DS.
He is a nightmare to feed. Moans, groans, spits the bottle out, hates burping (he literally cried) and spits up (sometimes it goes down my shirt).
DH also hates to feed him. Just had to vent. Feeding should be fun, but its no fun in my house!!!!

No flames at all...you're only human and it is HARD when they are newborn especially when you have extra challenges attached like allergies and reflux! i am so sorry it is like that for you right now! i know you probably hear this all the time, but this time will pass by eventually and there are better times to come! hang in there and keep venting all you need!

Out of all of the things that I enjoy about being a mom, feeding DS never came up on the list
Don't stress it, its a means to an end and try to enjoy the other time better

I dont like feeding time either. Its hard to make peace with the fact that I have a kid that is not a fan of gorging herself like her parents do. She is a SLOW eater - kind of grazes if you KWIM!!!

I know how you feel
DS's reflux made it difficult to feed him and cleaning puke and spit-up got tiring. Feeding him in public was the worst! Now that he's older, it's a whole lot better! But the new challenges of him throwing food on the floor and dropping sippy cups still doesn't make DH want to feed him

Re: I know I will probably get flamed...but I cant stand feeding my DS.
Hang in there, hopefully it will get better! And you are not at all bad for saying this--I think a lot of us have trouble with feedings at some point.
I hate feeding DS now he is a toddler, because he is so picky and changeable in terms of the food he will eat. One day he loves chesse, the next day he spits it out--stuff like that. I was telling DH how much I dislike meals, and he joked that he would handle the meals if I do all the dirty diapers. And you know what? It sounds good to me!
I do have to say though, when we first started feeding DS solid foods, he loved it! It was really delightful to feed him for a bit, so hopefully this will be the case for you as well.

I only enjoyed feeding my daughter when she was EBF. After that, to this day, I dread feeding her.
You are not alone.

Re: I know I will probably get flamed...but I cant stand feeding my DS.
No flames from me....
While my kids, fortunitely, were good eaters Ive seen how frustrating it can be to have a child that is not...
When my goddaughter was little I used to go over just to feed her for her mother. She was a horrible, fussy eater, taking her an hour + to finish a 4 oz bottle. It was so stressing to her parents that even having someone take over 1 feeding was a godsend to them...
Is there someone who can help out here and there and give you a bit of a break?

I feel you! My DS #1 was so hard to feed when he was small esp at 3am. And reluctant burper. Oy vey it was torture. The my DD was a projectile spit up baby, 5 or 6 pj changes a night. Luckily #3 was so easy. No flames here either. It gets easier!

My DS has no reflux issues, just has always hated the bottle. I have to put him in my knees facing me so he can play with a toy for every bottle. Once he sees the toy, he will open his mouth. So frustrating.

OMG> Same thing here. She is impossible to feed. I prop at every feeding because there is no other way to feed her. I bought an awesome prop on Etsy

Re: I know I will probably get flamed...but I cant stand feeding my DS.
I'm so glad you posted this. I'm feeling the same way about my 3 week old. Feeding her is just such a chore! By the time she finally finishes a bottle, it is time for another one. DH is always yelling at me that there is no hole in the nipple because she isn't drinking anything and he keeps insisting that I need to poke holes in the nipples. It is no fun over here at all!!!
for you. I hope it gets better soon.

We have our good days and our bad days - so I can totally relate.
And I feel guilty for feeling that way too...

I did for a while too! At around 3 weeks, she was screaming at the breast and biting me and my nips were on fire! Whenever I had to feed her, I cried and counted the minutes until she was dine. Now, at almost three months, it is a pleasure-- hang in there!
