I know it's been asked a thousand times - Venues by mall area
Trying to look at places in the Westbury, Carle Place, Mineola, Garden city area for my DS's 1st Birthday.
We could have as many as 90 people mostly adult maybe 10 kids all 4 and under..
Don't want cheesy but there are so many chain restaurants around here (never had a party outside of out home) I was hoping on your imput on quality and price!
I have been literally driving by these and wondering if you have had any experience or know of others!?!?
Bertucci's Houlihans Uncle Bacala Papa Razzi Ciao Baby (looks $$$ on website) Piccolos Baci Charlie Brown's (also looks $$$ )
thanks for your help

Spumante in East Meadow (unfortunate location of being in front of the Coliseum Motor Inn) - good food, okay looking party room upstairs (nothing special though but it has a little stage area and a dance floor), not sure how the pricing compares to other places - we held our holiday party there for the past several years when I worked in East Meadow because one of the managers knew the owner since he was a kid (so I think we usually got a deal).

Also want to add comments on your above...
I have been to all of the above....I dont believe Bertuccis and Baci (love baci) can accomodate parties, no party room.
Charlie Brown's, eh, would not have aparty there even if it does have a party room.
Uncle Bacala, food is good, but don't know if there is a party room.
Piccolo in Mineola, food is great, they have a party room. Been there 2 times for a party. I would definitely book here if you want.
Papa Razzi, I hate the food there and I hate the place personally.
Ciao Baby, don't know again if they can accomodate a party.
Another suggestion but I think it's out of your price range is Johnathan's in GCP.
Or New Hyde Park Inn in NHP.

I believe so. My parties were in the front of the restaurant (but it is very separate feeling). For larger parties they can give you the front and the side of the restaurant, or their downstairs room. I am sure they can fit your party.
Price depends on what you get. I can't recall, we got all the extras so it was costly for us anyway.

Ciao Baby in Carle Place closed.
I had DD's christening at Piccola Bussola. Loved it. We had 70 people & they gave us the whole main dining room. I'm not sure how many the private room holds.

I dont believe Grimalidi's does large parties, plus they only serve pizza.
And the new pizza place in Mac Grill's place is open, it's called Luzzo's.

Ok didn't know if Grimaldi's did parties.
Yes, Davenport Press. I was there for a party also, very nice.
St. James does parties but I don't believe they can accomdate a party that large.

Also want to add, if you like Chinese, Orchid in GC has a nice party room and I don't think the price would be that bad.

Re: I know it's been asked a thousand times - Venues by mall area
I can't comment on any of the places that you mentioned in that area, but we had my DD's christening at Charlie Brown's in Commack and they were FANTASTIC.
The price was great and they threw in stuff for me too (they added the prime rib onto the lower priced menu at no extra charge and gave my guests a choice of sides and desserts). They were so easy to work with and I would definitely recommend them. The location we were in did not have a party room that would accomodate our size party (we were only about 25) but they put us in a corner and made sure no one was seated around us. We actually had the entire room (holds about 100) to ourselves for most of the time.
Food was good and I got a ton of compliments from guests. I also really liked that they had the salad bar which encouraged guests to interact more.

I've been to many events at Pompeii in West Hempstead. It has fantastic, fantastic service (really - you won't ever find a nicer group) and good food.

Re: I know it's been asked a thousand times - Venues by mall area
I just had a surprise 60th birthday for my mom at Uncle Bacala's. Food is AMAZING and they give ALOT. We are also having my son's Communion there. But I don't think they can accomodate 90 people. They might if you do it early enough (in between lunch and dinner times). They might close the whole place for you.
Pompeii in West Hempstead is also great as well. Great food and lots of party rooms.
