"I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
Article I am not sure what the author hoped to accomplish with this post. But she is being eaten alive in the comments. I feel like she is totally out of touch with the reality of most people, and comes across as insensitive.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
I don't know why people feel the need to write blogs ........about THEMSELVES.
Fashion Blog, Food Blog, Tech Blog, Decorating Blog etc etc etc - ALL stuff others would be interested in reading, seeing others opinions/ideas, sharing etc ..........
Blog posts entirely about yourself? Um ...........OK
Some things, you just don't have to put out into the world for everyone to know - and if you do ........well, don't cry when people call you out on your BS.

I can't figure out what the point was. This seems more like a personal journal entry than an article.
She literally has the life that many many people dream of but will never achieve.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
I don't know. I didn't find this insensitive and I'm infertile. I just read it as her story. Not sure what she was going for other then to just say it out loud so to speak.
From the baby side of it, coming from me who tried it all to conceive, I see them as being responsible. They made a plan and went with it. But had second thoughts and we're torn. Not having #3 is allowing them and their childrens lives to be lived exactly how they had worked so hard for. Again, I don't know. I see it as just her story.
There are people, my parents included in this, who have kids and just wing it only to have it be pretty terrible along the way- money wise and in turn, emotionally as well.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
I'm not sure I get all of the negative comments or thinking what she wrote is insensitive. Don't we ALL make sacrifices in our lives in one way or another?? As fellow moms, can't we all relate to wanting another kid but at the same realizing that maybe it's not financially practical for various reasons?? And why can't someone who has two children long for a third??...............how is that insensitive to someone with no kids?? I struggled with IF myself but I never begrudged anyone with children.
I don't know, I read through many of the comments and I feel that most people just came off sounding VERY ignorant and VERY jealous. I think the point the article was trying to make was that to have what we all consider to be the "American Dream" we all have to sacrifice in some way or another to achieve that...................and honestly, she's right!! It seems like they worked hard and played their cards right to have what they do and instead of berating them you would think people would appreciate the fact they made it on their own with no hand-outs.
Maybe it's just me but reading about others good fortune doesn't bother me............good for them for making a nice life for themselves. As a mom, I understand her longing for a third. Having a nice home/life doesn't diminish those feelings, I still struggle with the idea that we might be done having kids, it's a hard chapter to close for most women, regardless of how much or how little you have in life.
People need to spend less time being envious and putting other people down and more time worrying about themselves and trying to figure out how to make their own lives better. Just my two cents.

I didn't read all of the comments .......... I don't disagree with her approach, or think she's an insensitive a$$hole .......
I just don't think your entire life story needs to be put out there on the internet . You put it out there and people are going to internalize it, comment on it, rip it apart etc. If you're good with that ........well, then OK - but I just don't see ANY reason for this diary entry to be out in the universe.

I understood what you were saying and ITA, people don't need to put it all out there and obviously when you do you open yourself up to be ripped apart. But that being said, I think those who commented were missing the point of the article and they sounded like idiots in their responses.

Best comment ever:
I couldn't even make it all the way through. It's terribly written and makes me wonder if her uterus aches because someone punched her in it after hearing her sad little tale of woe.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
Many people choose not to have 3rd child due to finances. She names the dream home as the reason but for us wanting to pay for our two children's college and other things will likely keep us from having more. If money were no object We would likely have more kids as I am sure is true for many.

"If you have to go back to work, you should look into jobs at Goop. I feel like you and Gwyneth Paltrow could really relate to each other."
As for the article. I mean...you can have it all if you down size and I don't know...maybe sell your timeshare. But it seems that these are very important to her. So to each his/her own.

I *personally* don't believe in the idea of "having it all". Everything in life comes at a sacrifice in some capacity.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
My initial thought was to roll my eyes, but then I thought that to some extent this is true with families who live in the city. Stay in the city or have more kids and move, if you cant afford a big enough space for the family size you would like to have. Still, I don't feel pity on her. She could move if she wants to, she just doesn't want to.

Re: "I made a huge sacrifice to have my dream home" article
I am usually pretty open about seeing different points of view - but this article is ridiculous.
There are people in this world that cannot have children, have DYING children, SICK children or are sick themselves and will sadly leave behind their children. There are starving children and people who have suffered horrific tragedy...
GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. and enjoy your beautiful home and 2 perfectly healthy children and get over it.
UGH!

This was exactly what I thought.
Like, at first, I tried to be open-minded and supportive. I appreciate the fact that they worked so hard, saved and sacrificed to achieve certain goals that the two of them made together. I think that's awesome and that's what a lot of people do -- save for a car, save for a house, save for a college fund for the kids, or an emergency fund, save to take the kids to disney, etc.
But then she lost me LOL.
And it's like, you lost me when you tell me you have a timeshare and you have assets - the house itself, etc. but you physically cannot afford to have one more child?? I mean, I don't know. I get that they obviously are very careful with their budgeting and they are the type that sound like the IDEA of the expense is too daunting that they are afraid and just won't...
I mean, I have an Aunt and Uncle like this - save every penny, say they can't when they absolutely can, they just don't want to spend the money. So, I'm like, is that what this is??? Who the heck knows but man, what a crock!
I try to support people in their decisions and to each his own but then keep that shit to yourself. That is a personal and private decision between you and your husband - so stop. Step away from the computer

Or, she could go back to work. Or, she could wait until the older 2 kids are in school and then have the baby to spread out expenses. But, its all about choices

And YESSSSS to this! I feel like writing a blog. I will discuss waking up in the morning, how hard it is to get out of bed, the struggle to find panties that don't show through my light colored pants, how I'm never really satisfied with my make up, how my hair only comes out great on days I have nothing to do. Then I will muse about my compulsive overeating and my PMS symptoms getting worse as I get older. How I long to get a pedicure but the fear of fungus is real and my toenail has not been the same since I had a fungus 3 years ago. How my cell phone charger is not long enough to reach when I need to charge while sitting on the couch. The struggle is real folks! #firstworldproblems
