I need advice regarding Sesame Place...
So we are planning on going to sesame in a few weeks (reservations are made already) but Im not so sure if we should go. My DS is 14 months and a VERY difficult child. He's very strong willed, has a huge temper and is spoiled. He hates the stroller and hates when we confine him. I have a "leash", but he doesnt get teh concept of walking with us instead of going where he wants to go. Oh, and he also hates the pool - cries the instant we put him in.
I have a 3 1/2 year old that would love to go (she was there when she was 17 months) now that she is more aware of things.
Part of me doesnt want the hassle of taking him overnight and dealing with him at the park. He doesnt nap anywhere but his crib and when he is tired he is so cranky. But, I feel bad making his sister suffer for his difficult temperment. Should I just grin and bare it for the day and night or wait until next year? I really want to go for my DD, but the thought of the crank monster give me anxiety.

If he knows the characters, he will have a good time. He may just be so exhausted that he will pass out! Good Luck! & Have fun!

Re: I need advice regarding Sesame Place...
I have never been to Sesame, but, my brother has and I believe theres a water park.
We just got back from Dutch Wonderland. We stuck DD in the sprinklers, went back to hotel and went swimming. She slept over 12 HOURS that night.
My point is, stick him in the water, he may like sprinklers. Being in the air all day and add the water to it, he may be so tired, he'll pass out.
Like above poster mentioned, if he likes the characters he may be fine and enjoy it.

Re: I need advice regarding Sesame Place...
I took DD last year. She was16 months and petrified of water so we couldn't go near the water stuff. There is a little section for the real little ones where its all padded and they can play. We stayed there most of the day. Plus she liked the shows. She napped a bit in the stroller even though she normally won't nap outside the crib. We went with my brother's family so although DD didn't/wouldn't/couldn't do a lot of it, I thought it was worth it to see my neice play and have everyone together. If I were you, I would go. Your older one will love it and your little one will do just fine. Plus, if you really need to do a nap, one of you could always go back to the hotel since the local ones have shuttles.

can you leave your son with a family member and just take your daughter? Your son is too young to know the difference right now and may not appreciate sesame place the way your daughter will.

That is what I was going to suggest too.

Re: I need advice regarding Sesame Place...
your DS sounds like my DD1 and we took her last year at 14 months. She can be so inflexible, only sleeps in her crib (now a PNP from daycare), won't go to new people, etc. I thought she would have been a nightmare but she really surprised me. She went to every character and I had to pry her away, she easily went into the pools, loved the rides, slept fine in the hotel in our PNP, eat her usual (almost nothing but still something), etc. I say give it a try!
