Vacation advice/info/place when going with a 9 month old
Hey ladies..we are planning to go on vacation in Oct with our 9mo baby...first, I would like to know where are the best spots/hotels to travel with a baby that will provide a crib..second, what do you do when your kid goes to bed at 7, do you keep them in a carseat out for a bit..or are you tied to your room...on that note, we are thinking about bringing a fam member to help that is willing to watch the baby in return for a free vacation in the sun...are there any affordable/all inclusive/kid friendly places that any of you can recommend...or are we just dreaming ...Or should we leave her at home for 5 days ???(Dont know if I can do it) Thanks for all of your advice in advance!!

Re: Vacation advice/info/place when going with a 9 month old
i don't have any advice on where to go but i can tell you that we took DS to PA for 4 days when he was 9 months old. he did so much better than i thought he would. when he was very tired he would sleep in his stroller for a bit. and even though he was used to going to bed at 7, he had no problem staying up until 9 because he was so entertained by everything going on.
me and DH thought about having our parents watch him (we went to PA with him) but we were so exhausted from all the activities during the day we didn't.
he slept in his PNP and had no problems at all.
good luck!

Re: Vacation advice/info/place when going with a 9 month old
We took DS to Florida for the first time when he was 10 months old. Our timeshare provided a pack andplay and he slept fine there. Some nighst we kept him up late, other nights we stayed in, but we did try to keep his schedule as consistent as we could. What made/continues to make our trips so easy with him is that we have a 2 bedroom timeshare. So he sleeps in his own room, and we still have a whole living room area to hang out and watch movies, plus our own bedroom. Instead of paying someone to come with you, you may want to splurge on a suite or larger room. Another thing you may want to check out is FDR Pebbles in Jamaica. It's all-inclusive and each family gets their own nanny.

Check out Club Med. A bunch of the clubs are totally kid friendly, including children and baby programs. I believe they have 5 or so baby friendly clubs including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Florida.
Another option is to take a cruise on one of Royal Caribbeans new boats. Their newest ships, Oasis and Allure of the Seas, offer a full-staffed Nursery, with childcare drop-off options day and night.
Both great options!

Re: Vacation advice/info/place when going with a 9 month old
We just got back from going to niagra falls with ds who is 9 months... not that he got much out of it... BUT we stayed at a homewood suites which advertises that it is kid friendly.... our room only had a stand up shower.... SO BEWARE... I now know to ask for a tub when making reservations... though I have never seen a shower only before in a hotel....

Re: Vacation advice/info/place when going with a 9 month old
we are actually going to puerto plata on thursday, to an all inclusive resort (the bungalows) , our son in 12 months....so in the past when we went on vaca like florida or aruba (ds was 6 months), we actually stayed up in the room when ds went to bed at 7:30, we had early dinner then sat on the balcony over looking the ocean...we found we were much more tierd at night then before. We bought books to read and just reconected with dh, plus we would get drinks via room service or one person would run down to the bar. so its not to bad.....
we are going to DR and we ended up booking a room with a huge balcony so we plan on spending our evenings there

I just got a flyer in the mail from the Westin in Aruba - the prices were really reasonable! They offer all inclusive as well as a la carte.

We took DD when she was just turning 8 months old. It was by far one of the BEST vacations we ever took. I absolutely LOVED Beaches in T&C. I wouldn't hesitate to go back in a heartbeat (we're actually planning to go back for a family vacation in 2 years there )
It is SO kid/family friendly...they provide you with a crib, which was in great shape. The place was immaculate. They have a camp you can enroll your child in, they have babysitting, which we didn't use, but a bunch of people we met used it and had nothing but great things to say about it.

We just got back, what an incredible time we had!!!!! It is VERY kid friendly. They have Sesame Place and your DC can be a part of it for most of the day and night for no cost (I believe). We didn't send DD b/c we had my parents there and they wanted to watch her. There is sooo much to do for kids (a water park), my 11 month old LOVED it all!!!
FM me if you have any other ques.
Oh, and the flight was quick! Direct from JFK to T & C it was 3 hours 3 min.! Not bad for going out of the country!
