I need help breaking this Sleeping with us Habit!!

Riley was always a great sleeper since birth and no issue from bassinett to crib.

Now almost a year old and lately she is waking up screaming bloody murder at midnight or 2am I go in there pick her up and bring her into our bed and she knocks out.

How do I stop this?? I need some tips? I have no problem with her in our bed when teething or sick I get that and understand. Now I just feel like she know this routine and I do not want it to continue much longer. I'm gonna try staying in her room and helping her fall back to sleep in the crib but need some ideas!!

Re: I need help breaking this Sleeping with us Habit!!

Mason had a bad phase when he was teething at 10.5 months. It was about a month of him getting up all night. B4 that we'd just lay him in the crib, he'd roll over and STTN. WHen he started teething we were rocking him to sleep then lay him in the crib. He'd get up screaming so we'd rock him more... it was a tough month of no sleep for any of us. When the top teeth came in it became a habit b/c he was used to us holding him all night. We HAD to break it.
Meagan recommended the sound spa machine that plays music and projects a show on the ceiling. I put it on and heard him CIO for about 45 mins till he finally crashed. The second night took 20 mins and that was it. Since then he's been back to his normal routine. I play the music, he looks up at the ceiling, then I lay him in the crib (he grabs all his pacis that I fear breaking him out of it one day), sits for a bit, sometimes walks around and eventually lays down to sleep. Last night he was very tired so there was no playing. Since then... STTN from 7:15 - 7.
Not sure if it'll work for you, but thought I'd share. There is a light at the end of the tunnel Chat Icon
