I need help w/ layers.
Ok, so I have my underarmour/nike pro combat tights and sometimes I throw a pair of my regular nike "breathable pants" over them, so I have my bottom half covered (except for my sock issue--totally separate.)
I have trouble with the top.
I wear:
1.Sport bra
2.Long-sleeve t-shirt (just regular, not a wicking type)
3.Nike Cold gear mock zip
4.Fleece jeacket
I need help with the second part. I don't think I need/want another insulated layer, but are there just regular t-shirts that wick the sweat away that aren't crazy expensive?
If so, can you please suggest some?
I feel like layers 1&2 are drenched by the time I finish my outdoor run and it is so cold walking the rest of the way home.
Thanks, as always, for your help!

Re: I need help w/ layers.
I know super runner shop in Huntington always has a clearance section of wicking tanks. $15-20
why not jog home?

Re: I need help w/ layers.
I think you need a wicking layer between the sports bra and the cotton t-shirt. This has helped me.
Also - advice from my DH - dress for mile 2, not mile 1. You may be overdressing causing you to sweat more.
Additionally, I would change my run so I did not have to walk home - maybe start off with a walk and then run if you are looking to increase distance. Once you are sweaty, it is hard to get warm.

I always time myself so poorly, that by the time I'm finished with my run (my PT wants me to do 3 30 minute runs per week) I am about 1/4 mile away from home. Also, I live in a busy neighborhood and sometimes I try to squeeze some errands in on the way home. (Little things like the POst Office, pharmacy etc.)
I know I have to start timing myself better.

Thanks for this. I agree with your husband and I know I have to try and time myself better.
I'm confused about the wicking layer between the bra and t-shirt. What is it?
Thank you!

Re: I need help w/ layers.
To better time your runs, I would do an out and back, at 15 mins turn around or use mapmyrun beforehand if out and backs bore you.
As for a wicking shirt, I would try a very light shirt like this: It may help to keep you drier and therefore warmer. If you are wearing a cotton shirt, it is probably just absorbing all your sweat.

Thanks! What kind/brand of shirt is that?
I just downloaded the app. Thank you for the advice. This board is great!
