This is why I hate these damn tests. They tell you there is a chance something could be wrong. 1:10 means you have a 9:10 chance there is nothing wrong. I am praying for you, I am sure everything will be OK. For now try to breathe and relax this stress is not good for you or the baby. Many prayers and hugs to you.

I was all for this test, to rule out anencephaly in this baby-well that came back perfect, but now this. I told DH I was mad at myself for taking the test now.

This will NOT happen to you. It just WON'T!! It won't it won't it won't! It's just can't. I am going to church soon for Holy Thursday services (Greek Easter on Sunday) and I will light a special candle for you and your baby and pray like I never prayed before.

Hang in their sweetheart and try to keep it together for your little one. Get a nice cold glass of water, sit back, close your eyes and just breathe. Positive thoughts. Positive, good thoughts. You hold on to that!! And all the love, prayers and support that you are getting. We all are here for you.

The same thing happened to me with the Ultrascreen, I was a mess for weeks....had a followup with the Ultrascreen 2 and Level II and everything looks great, its can be so hard I know. Fm if you need to talk.

Omg Janine, my heart is breaking for you! Is an amnio the next step to give you a diagnosis rather than a risk factor?! Please keep us updated. My thoughts, prayers and good wishes are with you and your hubby.

Question... did the same lab do your bloodwork from your Ultrascreen and the AFP test. When I talked to the genetic counselor about get the AFP test, she said that the false positive increases to 10% when two different labs do the tests.

Yes, they took my blood in the drs office for the 12 week ultrascreen and sent it out. I went to Quest this past weekend for the bloodwork to be done.
