Definitley not the same lab...I remember from the 1st pregnancy asking, they said that the 12 week bloodwork is sent to a special lab (which is the only one in the US to do that testing). Or at least that is what they told me.
You are all making me feel better, you really are, I am just still a nervous wreck over here. I really want to believe that the test is screwed up since all the other tests and sonos are coming back great.

When I get home from work, I can scan a copy of the chart that the genetist gave me that listed the false positive rates- in general vs. when different labs are used. I can't imagine how you are hanging on right now, at work no less... but we are all here to give you any kind of lift we can. Stay strong!! I am sure the test is off, esp. if all of the other sonos and bloodwork results have been fine!!

im so sick for u right now....u have no idea how i got a lump in my throat when i saw ur post heading on the computer ....im giving u soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many prayers its not even funny!.....try to keep calm that things will still be ok

I had a friend who got similar results on her AFP. She had further testing and everything turned out fine. She has a perfectly healthy, active, rambuncous little 2 year old boy now.
There are always false results with that test.....I know it is stressful but try to remain positive.

I just want to let you know that when my cousin was pregnant with twin girls, they told her one of them had Down's. Both of them were perfectly healthy. I am praying for you!

i don't think i've ever hoped that a lab was inept and made a mistake...more in my life. i truly hope this was just a mess up by them----or that you are not the 1:10 chances.

I should add one little reminder.... it's still 1:10 chance... it's horrible that you got results like that, but there's still a 90% chance that everything is fine!
try to focus on the 90%

The nurse we saw last night called me saying she was checking up on me because she knows that I was quite upset last night (upset isn't the word for it). Anyway she said she had called over there as well, and the doctor still had to look at the paperwork.
I called (since I had left a message at 8:30 with no call back at 3:45) and the woman actually picked up but told me that "They had it on urgent, she is on top of it, the doctor hadn't looked at the paperwork yet, and they will call me, don't call them."
Seriously, I am not even being rude on these calls, I am trying to be the sweetest person so I get somewhere. Ugh, i've had it. These people just have no compassion.
