I could really use your prayers for my best friends son. She was induced and and had her DS via csection yesterday at Greenwich Hospital. He has a complete stomach blockage and was transferred to Columbia late last night. He's on the schedule for surgery tonight and they won't know for sure exactly what needs to be done until they get in there. My friend is heartbroken. Her DH and her son are so far away and she can't even be with them. Please pray that the surgery goes ok. And they're also concerned about his liver, but they're hoping once the stomach is taken care of that the liver problems will subside. I'm just so upset for her. I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through right now.
ETS_ They have his surgery scheduled for 8am tomorrow. The Dr. said it should be about a 2 hour surgery and he's very optomistic that Christopher will come out of it ok.
I'm so sorry for her DS and her family. That must be incredibly difficult to have your child transferred to another hospital for immediate surgery. He is in the best hands around at Columbia. I switched to deliver DD at Columbia b/c they thought DD would need surgery at birth and Columbia is the number one hospital for Babies in NY (the other excellent children's hospital is in Philadelphia). Her DS will be getting the best care around here.
