I need some quick CIO encouragement
DD has been upstairs screaming for about 10 minutes because she won't nap.
I had to go upstairs and close the door to the nursery because DH works from home, and her crying is so loud.
I was fine and perfectly strong until I peeked in (she didn't see me) to make sure she was safe.
Her little face broke my heart DD NEVER cries, she'll whine but that's about it.
It's hard to stay strong

Re: I need some quick CIO encouragement
Honestly i don't know if i could have done CIO without the summer video monitor. That way i didn't have to peek in on him and worry.
When is she supposed to nap next?
They say if your dc skips a nap, to just continue on with your day until they're next schedule nap.

OMGGGGGGG you have no idea.
Of course, now the issue is that her cat is mad that she left, and has taken to peeing and pooping all over the living room. I swear to God, what else?!
So yeah, we are very happy to have the break. But it seems I have some undoing of bad habits to be done.

I don't have a video monitor, so it's really hard to resist the urge to run upstairs and check on her.
I don't hear crying anymore, so I think I'll peek in on her and just make sure she's ok in a little while.
I was going to just continue on with the day, but she was BESIDE herself, she was so cranky.
Of course, she just fell asleep and she's due to nurse, like, NOW...so that's another issue.

Just let her sleep for now and nurse her when she gets up.
It's going to be hard because you will most likely have to do CIO for naps since your mother started that awful habit of holding her each time.
But also you might want to try putting her down a little earlier. At that age, ds could only stay awake for an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes max. Maybe see if that works out better for you!

Just pump. If she is out leave her. she will just eat later. I gave up trying to stay on a plan with the boy. this kids has a new plan everyday. Yesterday he had only 3 bottles and didn't finish one of them. I give up trying to figure it out.
And, mail her the cat. you have enough of them.

We started CIO on Friday and went out Saturday and got the video monitor. I kept going in and checking on him and I think it made it worse.

Yup. I saw a clip of it on the news or maybe it was perezhilton. Since many people are against putting their pets in the cargo section of planes, there is a new airline that you can pay for seats on the plane for your animal. It's only like $125+ one way!

Yeah, I was pretty happy with how it went.
She woke up 25 min. later After 5 min. of crying, I went up to get her because I assumed she HAD to be hungry...well, she nursed for about 5 min. and was out again! She slept another 1/2 hour after that.
Fast-forward to now. I looked for signs that she was getting tired, and I beat her to it this time. I put her in her crib where she's been rolling around and whimpering for the last 1/2 hour.
We'll see how THAT goes.
