I swear this is a serious question - insomnia?
DO you think that toddlers could have insomnia?
I ask because I suffer from it....
and lately for the past month or two there are some nights that Talia wakes up and is up for hours. Nothing I do gets her to go back to sleep.
Last night she got up at 3. (Always crying never just hanging out). I went in to her a bunch of times - but of course she kept crying again.
Then at 4:15 I was so tired I brought her into her bed in her room. She was singing songs, talking, kissing me, showing no signs of being tired. it took her over an hour to fall asleep again.
Since she was happy once I took her out of her crib - Iguess that rules out teething.
I dont know -I feel like she is starting to show signs she wants to sleep in a bed and she is done with her crib (she has been napping in bed for a while now) but I feel like I am not ready for that.
Ok I am rambling now...so what do you think of insomnia in toddlers???

I really have no idea but I was wondering if she has gone through any major events lately...like potty training for example? Something that could be causing a little stress or excitement?

nope. Nothing I can think of - although I think she wants to be potty trained because all of a sudden she tells me everytime she pees.
Maybe she is just going through a transition period?

Re: I swear this is a serious question - insomnia?
I don't have a toddler, but my friend had the same problem with her now four year old when she was about 3.5. She needed to be in the bed. In fact, she had been in a toddler bed and it just wasn't comfortable for her anymore. So, they tried everything and finally they bought a twin bed and that did the trick.
Good luck
