I think I know the answer to this, but humor me (sleep issue)...

So Chase is 8 weeks old now and he's still not sleeping through the night (which I know is normal), however, he does a 6-7 hour stretch in the evening. Like, he'll go down at 5pm and sleep till 11 or 12, then eat and do two 4 hour stretches. I'm fine with this, but is there anyway we can get him to do that 6-7 hour stretch later? I tried oatmeal in his bottle and that did nothing. I've tried keeping him up in the evenings and that just makes him overtired and cranky. So my guess is we need to just let him make the adjustment in his own time, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any insight?

Offer him more during the day, and less at the time he's waking up for bottle. Do it gradually, like .5 ounce change every few days. See if he'll go for that. It might help stop him waking for a bottle.

no advice, i think it is all in the baby.

we were getting 10 hr stretches...now she is reverting back a little to doing 7 hours, eating, then back down for a remaining 4. just figured it is a growth spurt.

she is 5 mos, so hopefully when i start cereal next month it will help

FWIW, my 9 month old JUST STTN for the first time last night. If you're getting anything more than 4 hrs at this stage, consider yourself LUCKY!

Colin did the same thing and still does not sleep through the night at 10 months. Now he wakes once for a bottle and goes right back, so I'm just dealing.

Good luck!
