I think i need help with my picky eater.....
My DD eats nothing but Hot dogs, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, fruit and cereal. I hate that she does not eat anything good. She is almost 2 and we are always trying new things but she doesnt even give it a chance.....
Any advice?? Or food suggestions?

Re: I think i need help with my picky eater.....
sorry...i have no advice. Just wanted to say that I know how frustrating it is. DS hardly eats. The ped said to keep offering things that it might take 10 times for a kids to eat something. He does like the eggo waffles and pancakes with fruit or chocolate chips. I guess that's not that healthy but you can add for your dd's breakfast. there's also a thread that had some advice.

Also some people on here said dr. praeger's products help getting some veggies in. They haven't helped us.

I think this is some sort of rite of passage for toddlers....DD eats everything they give her at daycare...for me, it's hot dogs, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese...no chicken, no fish....
To the OP...just keep trying different things...that's what I've done with DD and occasionally she'll surprise me and eat something.
I also try to keep "special" bowls/plates and interesting utensils around...sometimes putting something in/on a special plate/bowl will get her to try it...
Also - if you google "picky eater toddler", I've found a few websites that offer recipes / ideas...

Re: I think i need help with my picky eater.....
Ali was the same way for the longest time...then all of a sudden she wanted different things..and now she eats a bunch of things. She sometimes has a week here and there that she will eat that time of stuff too...but then goes back to eating more.
Sometimes I noticed she would eat more things...if I let her help me cook. for instance if I let her rolll a couple of meatballs she will eat them, if she helps getting an ingredient she thinks she cooked it and at least will try it... I don't know...just telling you what worked for us :)

Re: I think i need help with my picky eater.....
No advice, but I think it helps not to make a big deal over the fact that they aren't eating much. And though it seems like a waste, I know, keep introducing DC to different foods. I keep giving DS veggies, meat, beans, and eggs and it's annoying because they go right in the trash untouched, but I keep thinking some day, some day...
I wish he ate better foods too, but he's another fan of pizza, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, etc.
Also with the veggies, I've started using frozen more often--much easier if he doesn't eat them.
