Maybe they knew I would grow up to LOVE the movie "Silence of the Lambs".
Side note...
I tell you, this house has eleventy billions treasures left for us to find. It has been hard going through the stuff, but we find ways to get through it. Some of them are harder to look at than others. This glimpse of artwork I have shown you, makes me want to consider stronger undergarments. 
As my father got older and his Alzheimer's progressed, he used to stash things - namely cash and jewelry - all over the house. The "clean-up" rule, is that nothing gets thrown out until it is checked for possibly hidden money. When Dad passed three years ago, we more than once found $200 in a suit of his or behind something in a closet. Then I would get a phone call from Mom saying "Dad is taking us out to dinner again." We chose to celebrate him instead of being sad. It was an excellent coping skill.
Should we find anything now, it goes into a "pishke" (or Tzedakah) which is Yiddish for "collection box typically used for charity." When the house is sold, the entire family plans on going all out with a big dinner including all of the children and grandchildren as well as Mom's sister and nieces. It will surely help us to be with each other when we have to let this place go - 44 years of memories and the only true home I ever knew will be very hard to say goodbye to. Mom would have wanted us to be with each other.

I remember cleaning out my Grandma's house, just my Dad & I since my Dad's siblings had already passed & I'm an only child. The treasures were amazing. We found a box a love notes my Grandpa had written to her while they were dating
It was heartbreaking to let that house go, but I know the young couple that bought it are getting years of good karma & love.
I'm glad you guys are finding some funny things in the process, I know how hard it is.
