I think Lilly might have a UTI ** updated **
The past 3 nights, Lilly has gotten up about 5-6 times to pee. She sleeps in the bed with us and lets us know that she has to go out. We only have a side door (no direct access to the backyard through the house) so we have to leash her up bring her down 2 flights of stairs, let her do her business and then come back in and up. It's a process and I'm walking around like a zombie today. I would imagine that this is what having a newborn is like.
There's no odor and it's a decent volume, just the frequency of the urination is worrysome. She even peed on the concrete part of our driveway twice last night, which she NEVER does - she always goes for the grass.
I have to bring in a urine sample to the vet this afternoon. Knowing her, it's going to be impossible, so here's my plan: I'll get home at my usual time, grab her from her crate and instead of taking her out to pee, I'll bring her right to the vet - they're 2 minutes from our house. They said they can collect it when I bring her in. I also had the option of leaving her there for a day so they could collect it, but I don't think I want to do that. I guess they'll send it out to the lab to rule out any infection...
I'm hoping that it's nothing. Maybe we're giving her too much water? I've heard of people cutting off their pets water at like 7 pm, but I just thnk that's cruel. She likes to have a drink of water before she settles down under the covers at night - she even has her own cup that we keep on my nightstand. She's like a kid - she won't go under the covers until she has that last drink of water.
Oh - and she didn't win the Supermodel contest - can you believe that?!?!?!?
*** Update ***
The vet called with the urinalysis results - everything is absolutely perfect - no signs of infection whatsoever.
Her anal glands get really full at times - the doc emptied them yesterday (it gets done usually once a month) and said that since they were really full, it could have been putting pressure on her little bladder and causing her discomfort. She slept through the night last night, so the anal gland issue could have totally been the culprit.

No, because I voted like a BAZILLION times. Then when I checked it this morning I was pizzed. She deserves a win!
On the more serious note, I hope she's feeling better (and letting you sleep more) soon!

Re: I think Lilly might have a UTI
My dog Casey used to get UTI's when she was a puppy. They gave her antibiotics and she seemed back to her normal self in less than a day.

Re: I think Lilly might have a UTI
We're back from the vet - we got a good sample and should have the results tomorrow.
Her crate was dry when I came home, she seems to only have the peeing problem overnight.

Thanks for asking! She slept through the night last night.
I don't know what's going on with this pup. Good thing she's cute.

Re: I think Lilly might have a UTI
I'm glad you both got some sleep! Hopefully it was just a fluke or the infection passed quickly!

Sorry she didn't win!! I promise you I voted 2x at least.. Also glad to hear she is better!! Those anal glands!! I wastaught how to do it so I try to inbetween groomer visits..
Now i am LMAO about the cup on on the night stand!!! I DO THE SAME EXACT THING!! I have a reallly high bed if she is thirsty she would suffer all night or wake me up so its there for her when ever she wants it.. I thought I really was the only one that did that.. And its in a red plastic cup!!
