I think my mom doesn't want to watch the twins any more!

I know that two are a lot! They are exhausting! I know that! But, I also had a feeling that my mom wasn't going to follow through with taking care of them!

She has been watching them 3 days a week and last night she said "I think you should see if you could find someone for another day" I didn't even know what to say. I was speechless!

Since we live in the city, everything is so much more expensive here. Another day of childcare would run me between 125-150! It is insane!

I cannot afford to not work, but this is going to be such an expense. I had a feeling this was going to happen, but wanted to remain positive!

Re: I think my mom doesn't want to watch the twins any more!

That's tough.

Each of my brothers had twins and they said that it's real tough until somewhere around a year when they start playing together. They each had extra help until then. It must be hard on you and your mom.

My mom admits she couldn't take care of my one little guy. Last week she had him for 2 1/2 days and was wiped out! She even said if he had to stay home another day I would have had to take the day off.

Maybe you could hire a mother's helper to help her out one or two days.

They are cheaper than solo-care or daycare, but will help your mom out.

I was thinking the same thing when talking with DH about this latest snafu! What angers me a bit is that I spent all this money on gear for her house. She gave me a list of things that she wanted for her house and I bought them. Now, the babies won't be there that often!

I don't know I guess I am just a bit sour right now! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon but if the mother's helper went to her house even for a few hours a day, she could still use the gear? maybe even a student just to give her a couple of hours of help/a break? just suggestions

Right. A mother's helper would be there to help your mom with the babies - still in the same house, etc.

I would be mad too. have you thought about moving out of the city? if you go somewhere less expensive, you could probably stay home Chat Icon good luck!
