I Usually Love Meal Planning..

..but I don't want to cook lately!

I'm trying to think of what to cook next week and it all sounds so boring and rote.

Maybe I'll make all packaged stuff as a theme.. canned soups, boxed macaroni, frozen fish.

Can you guys inspire me with a divine dish they've had recently at home or in a restaurant? Tell me.. what's the best meal YOU have eaten??

I love making fresh broccoli rabe tossed with pasta, sweet sausage, diced fresh mozz, and some sliced cherry tomatoes all tossed with some garlic and olive oil.

fish tacos (DH fav!)
chicken rollatini with penne alla vodka
linguine and clam sauce
ribs in the slow cooker... yum!

My fave dishes:

scrambled eggs, diced ham and egg noodles

pork with dumplings and homemade gravy

eggplant parm

chicken scampi

meatloaf w/mashed potatoes and corn

this is so silly and simple but my favorite meal is rigatoni or fusilli with simple tomato basil sauce and fried (MUST be fried) eggplant slices on top. Whenever i go home, it's what i ask for. DH doesn't like eggplant which is the bane of my life.

We went to my Godson's 1st Birthday party in a restaurant and I got the Veal Sorrentino. OMG it was sooooo good. I then ordered it from our fabulous Italian place and got the same brown sauce on my side of Linguine.
So now I just have to make this soon!!

But I am having this problem also. I feel like my meals now are all boring and not thought out anymore at all.

I can't get this 4 cheese quiche from Maureen's Kitchen out of my head lately and I am trying desperately to recreate it!

I hear you. I get in this rut sometimes too. The other night I made the best braised pot roast and mashed potatoes. We were licking the plate. Cooked it in a le creuset for like 4 hrs., shredded like butter. Finished the sauce with red wine. So delicious. It was the Cooks Illustrated recipe.

I also had the best greek meal the other night. Creamy avgolemono soup, orzo with tomato sauce, grilled pita, lemon potatoes, chicken souvlaki, greeksalad with the most amazing tzatziki and dressing. MMMMM!
