I dont do flu shots for any of my children or for myself.
When they can make a shot that will definitely protect my child, or myself for that matter, againest the flu then I'll reconsider. Last year the flu shot only protected us from less than half of the circulating strains of flu. Even in a good year it's never close enough to100% for me...

I am not getting Steven the flu shot. However, if he was in nursery school I would reconsider. This is one you really have to make yourself.

I gave it to DD b/c she is in day care. They have a mercury free flu shot. This shot and the chicken pox shot are the only two shot with thimerisol (mercury) still in them.

I would not give them the shots but I never have given it nor will I. Good luck with your decision - its not easy

I said yes because they are in daycare, otherwise I might have said no. Not sure, havent decided myself, yet I lean towards no...but I have seen how daycare germs spread and I do think in this case, the flu is worse then the vaccine.

My 10yr old, 3yr old and 1yr old will be getting their flu shot next wk. I myself had already gotten one.

It's mandatory in NJ state beginning this year but I would've done it anyway. No question in my mind. If I can do ANYTHING to avoid my child getting sick, then I'll do it. Wish they had a "common cold" shot too!

My son has been in daycare for almost 2 years and he has only been sick on two occasions, I don't feel the risk for us is big enough to have a flu shot, it isn't a guarantee that you won't get the flu. but again, its a personal choice.

I wouldn't - but only because I never have done it for them or myself and things have always worked out fine. I guess I let their immunity build up the old fashioned way. I don't know? I feel kind of stupid because it never really occurred to me that I should consider it. 
That said - they've been sick in the past! And it sometimes sucks - but when it happens they get extra fluids, extra snuggles and extra stories. We spend time vegged out under blankets and then they get better.

I guess I am in the minority since I did not give DS the flu shot. He still will not get it even when he does start school.
same here for my boys.
But something like this is a very personal decision.

The girls got them. But, they didn't get a shot. They got it in liquid form up their noses. Less painful works the same. They had no reaction to it.

Do they get easily sick? If yes, then I would give it to them.
If they don't when sick kids are around, then you could skip it.

Im actually switiching pediatricians and they are out of the vaccine for her age group. Im going to see if Mid Suffolk has it and get it before I switch

Ds is in daycare 2 days a week, therefore he got the first round and is due to get the 2nd shot next week. My ped's office gives the flu shot without mercury. DD is 5 months and she will not be getting the flu shot since my mother watches her.
