If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
when did DC start sleeping through the night and did they do it on their own or did you have to do something to get them to do it, like CIO or give a pacifier, etc? TIA

1 year
He took a pacifer, but still woke for bottles. We finally did CIO at 12 months when he was off the bottle.

Todd Jr is 4 1/2 months and gets up once to eat still at night, I'm thinking cause he's a boy and always hungry-lol Julia was sleeping threw the night at 2 months, I'm hoping since he started on cereal now he won't get up for that feeding anymore.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
Slept through the night at 6 month
By himself (no rocking, etc...), at 9-10 months (can't remember exactly). We never did CIO. He has a pacifier and a blanket to fall asleep. We remove the blanket after he falls asleep. He put his pacifier at the end of the crib. He takes it back when he wakes up in the morning.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DS is 4 months. He slept through the night a couple of times, but it did not last.
Now he falls asleep at about 7:30, wakes up near midnight for a bottle, and then sleeps until about 6 a.m.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
He started to sleep through the night between 8-10 months, I can't remember exactly. Then at 12 months he started getting up again, that lasted about a month.
He did it on his own.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DS is almost 8 months and we aren't quite there yet--he has done it a handful of times, but most nights is up once to eat.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
19 mos...the night I moved his mattress into my room
all of a sudden, for night and naps, he goes right onto his mattress and puts himself to sleep.
I can't even care anymore because we are finally sleeping.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
6 months, she stopped waking up 6 times a night, and started waking up only 1x. It wasn't until 10 months that she slept through the night. At 6 months, i let her cry it out which did wonders.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DS will be 3 months next week. He goes down between 8 and 9. Wakes up once around 4 to nurse. Then typically back to sleep till 7.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DS was 2 1/2 months when he started sleeping through the night. Every once in a while he will wake in complete tears. The doctor said it s either nightmares or night terrors. But this is once evey two or three weeks.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DD is 3 months and started to sleep thru the night around 7 weeks. However, she does go to bed around 9pm and wakes up for 1 bottle around 5am, and goes back to sleep till about 8am.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
DD did it 3 times the week she turned 3 months. Then she didn't sleep through the night again until she was 5 months old. That's when she started doing it regularly.

Re: If DC did not sleep through the night by 3 months
We're just here now - at 6 months tomorrow and I did a modified CIO. For the past 2 wks (with the exception of one bad night) I just didn't go into him. I didn't plan on letting him cry more than 15-minutes. The first night he put himself back to sleep in 10-minutes each time he woke so I realized it was probably my fault for running in. He wasn't even really crying for more than the first few minutes.
Now sometimes I hear him get up and babble a little, but I don't need to go to him, or feed him, anymore.
He does have a paci in there and he finds it himself in the crib if he wakes up (it's actually so cute to watch on the monitor - he feels around with his hands and moves around his legs - if he find it with his foot, he shimmies down to it and grabs it )

That is so cute!
Thanks for all the replies ladies - I just wanted to see what happens when babies don't start sleeping through the night before 3 months - if I am going to be stuck with sleep deprivation and CIO. Maybe it won't be that bad. DS usually wakes once sometime between 2-5, then goes back down until 6 or 7. He usually screams until he gets a bottle, takes a few ounces and will go back to sleep quickly. I, on the otherhand, can't fall back to sleep and by the time I do, he is ready to wake again! I'll keep hoping.
