If things get any worse...
After my DH losing his PT job a few weeks ago, I lost my job last night.  It was a temp job and things have slowed down and they don't need me anymore. I knew it was coming at some point, but now it's horrible timing. I can't take it anymore! We are sooooo much more s@rewed now!!!  I have been sending out my resume like crazy even before this temp job with no luck. I've sent out a bunch a week ago and nothing. Job hunting is so depressing. Why doesn't anyone want to hire me? If things weren't stressful enough already. Thanks for listening, I just needed a quick ear!

I've already applied to Home Depot a while ago and never heard back. I NEVER heard back from retail type jobs for some reason. They probably assume that I won't stay there considering it's not my background. I used to do retail all the time when I was younger so it's not like I don't have the experience. 
We can't rent out the house because we couldn't get the amount of rent that we need to cover it. That's why I've been seriously wanting to sell the house. We need to get back on our feet again and fast!

My mom works at BJ's, behing the customer service desk. She said they are always looking. Try there.
What kind of job are you looking for? retail? office?
I hope things get better soon

Maybe reapply for these places - right now you will find TONS of stuff - cause places need holiday help.
Especially Fed Ex, Kohls - all those type places.
Did you have you resume professionally done?
Maybe have someone look it over to see if you need something else or you need to revamp it.

When I needed to earn extra cash to save for my wedding I waited tables at a Morton's for almost 6 months. I thought I would feel 'above' it being that I was almost 30, a Naval Officer and professional consultant, BUT I didn't! I had a lot of fun (although I was tired at the end of a long day after working 2 jobs.) I worked 3-4 days a week. They were only open for dinner so it was perfect. I made a good deal of extra money (more than my goal to cover the wedding), but I did have to work a few holidays. All in all if I was in a pinch I'd easily do it again. Maybe something like this would work for you. Good luck.

do you need benefits? If not go wait tables. Tell them you have experience, they never check. You will have to learn a new menu anyway, new computer system...Most places have you trained in a week. Even Leo's worst servers bring home 75.00 a night.

agreed. I always waited tables 3 nights a week after my regular job and on weekends. The money is there, so are the hours. They are ALWAYS in search of new management members too...it might lead to something.

I would def apply retail and def have your resume looked over.
Make sure you follow follow up with a thank you or email or phone call.
I'm so sorry you are going through this
Maybe when you have some extra cash have your resume professionally done, or even for free=check with your local colleges, some will look over your resume and give you some pointers.

Sorry you are going through this. I am looking for a pt job as well. I say keep up with the retail stores they need help around this time. Toys R Us especially.
