So sorry! I agree, go get a waitressing job. To this day I still look back and love my waitressing days. You meet great people, have fun, get exercise and make cash!
I used to work at the Milleridge Inn and during Chirstmas I would make over $700 cash each week AFTER tipping out bartenders, busboys, etc.
I know you are not in NY, but find an upscale restuarant, put on a professional looking outfit and go and apply. Just don't go at lunch or dinner time or they will know you have no experience. Stop in about 3pm.
(For those of you contemplating an extra job as the holidays approach go apply at the Milleridge!!! )

Could you maybe try a supermarket or a bank. I know they always hire cashiers & tellers. Do you live on Long Island? Hang in there, things will get better.
