If this is your first do people keep asking you if you want a boy or a girl?

I'm sorry I'm a little offended by this question. I know I'm extra sensative and maybe the same questions over and over are just irritating me but one of the worst is well what do you want?

This hopefully will only be my first child so honestly I dont care if I have either one. Especially nowadays with all the things that can go wrong. I really just want a healthy baby. Down the line it doesnt bother me if I have 3 girls or 3 boys as long as theyre healthy and happy.

So maybe its just me but I dont have a preference whatsoever. And I just think its a little rude to ask.

Yes everyone asks.. I say I just want a healthy baby. People get VERY annoying when you're pregnant!!

People ask me, but I am not offended. All anyone really wants is a healthy baby, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people having a gender preference.

What I hate is when people ask me if it was planned. I feel that is a bit too personal of a question, like they are trying to get into my bedroom.

People asked me all the time at the beginning. I wasn't offended, just irritated by the constant repeating of answer: It doesn't really matter to me either way. And it truly didn't nor does it still.

When you get towards the end (or sometimes still early on) when people look at you and automatically spit out of their mouths something like the following:

- You're still pregnant?
- When are you gonna pop?
- My goodness! Not yet?

That's when these people get on my nerves!!!!

i get asked it all the time! my first response to "what do you want to have" is usually "i want to have a painless birth" i always answer truthfully though in the end saying "i want a happy healthy baby"

yes. esp. asked by my brother, over & over again. he doesn't believe that i dont have a preference. his wife is preg. with #2 (they already have a boy) and she's dying for a girl.

i'd be happy either way, wth?

I hate when people say they have a specific prefernce for my child. They can ask me and i'll say i really don't care. That doesn't bother me. But when someone else says "i hope you have a ___" i get really annoyed. it makes me feel protective if it's the other sex, and also just generally feel like it's not their place to wish something for my life because they want it.

i always just say i want a healthy baby. it can get very annoying since i get asked the question at least once a day!

I totally fess up to wanting a boy so I would have no problem if I were asked. My dad would LOVE a grandson. He's had his sisters and mother and then he was in a house with me, my sister, and my mom so he only ever has a bunch of girls around. He's said that he would take a girl fishing and dune buggy riding and skeet shooting just like he would a boy but I think it would be extra special with his grandson. Plus if we have a boy we're naming him after my dad AND my aunt and uncle are having a baby in a few months and it's a boy so they could do boy things together.

Of course I am happy just to have a healthy happy baby and wouldn't be like Aw schucks! if it were a girl either. Nothing wrong at all with girls - there's just a LOT of estrogen in my family already. Gotta mix things up a little.

Before getting pregnant, I would ask people the same questions. I never realized how many people ask the same questions over and over again.

I really don't mind, and I really didn't have a preference either way. I just hate when people think I'm giving the politically correct answer of a healthy baby, when it's really just my truthful answer.

Unfortunately it only gets worse with your second. I have one - a boy AND everyone keeps saying "oh i bet you hope its a girl" or "maybe you'll luck out and get a girl" UM, all I care about is that I have a healthy baby - get real people!

I am personally not offended when asked this question to be totally honest when i first found out i was pregnant me and dh always said we wanted a boy.....well we find out last week we are having a and we are soooo happy that in the end all that matters is having a healthy baby and knowing you are going to love it either or

Well...........I get the "I hope it's a boy" comment all the time.

Last Sunday at a bridal shower I was told "I'm sorry, but I think you're having another girl."

I'm sorry???????????? Some people have nerve!

I must admit that with all pg's I was secretly hoping they were girls just so they would have eachother.

This time aound, I was secretly hoping fo a boy b/c my SIL was having a boy. Now that my nephew is here, he's all I need. Having a 4th girl sounds great to me!!!!

Either way..boy or girl I'm blessed!

I hate this. I also hate having to defend myself when people ask if I am finding out and we tell them no we want it to be a suprise. I find myself getting so defensive.

Yes - and I hate this question. All we want is a healthy baby - we had a mc in Jan, and we HONESTLY do not care if it's a girl or boy. Not everyone knows we had a mc, and often when I say "oh we don't care, as long as it's healthy", they'll say "oh please, you MUST have a preference, I won't tell anyone...". Ugh - a response like that makes me want to scream! I want to say "if you've ever had a mc you will know that the sex is the last thing you're thinking of and the healthy of the baby is the only thing that's important".

Sorry for the vent!

when we found out its a at 16weeks i was soo happy. the tech was like "well you should be happy either way as long as its healthy"! DUH! OBVIOUSLY id still be thrilled if it was a boy, they originally told us it was "probably a boy" so it was more of a shock when they said girl! but im not allowed to have a preference?! I have a stepson so I was hoping for a girl - to round things out. maann, she made me feel guilty
