If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

do you serve pre-packaged burgers or season meat and make your own?

do you make any of your condiments/salads/toppings?

I SKEEEEEEEVE prepackaged burgers. I cannot eat a Costco burger to save my life.

since I am a whackjob, everyone else benefits. I make my own schtuff. (not ketchup Chat Icon ) I also make my own onions for hotdogs. it's so easy!

I'm pretty easy going. However, I have been known to bring my own buns. I ONLY like Martin's potato rolls.

pre packaged....DH is a freezer food type of eater and we have gotten used to it.

I dont think I have ever been to a BBQ except ONE where the food was actually made by someone.

We usually buy a whole filet(s) from the butcher and/or we hit up Mr. Sausage in Huntington Village for fresh burgers, sausage, mozzarella, sauces, bread, etc.. Their burgers rock!

we make everything ourselves...except once and while I'll buy chicken burgers from Iavarone - or lamb burgers from whole foods - but only fresh never frozen.

Re: If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

We only have small get togethers - we buy specialty burgers premade from Whole Foods (like bleu cheese bacon burgers) and then make kebabs and salads (so that your friend, Paul Pfieffer will eat).

Re: If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

I make the stuff. I don't eat meat so that's DHs department - I'm all about salads & dressings/marinades.

Re: If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

I TOTALLY SKEEVE IT

I could have written this myself.

My grams gave me a metal hamburger shaper that turns the ground meat in to perfect patties. It's like 100 years old and I love it

Re: If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

DH is very picky about meat so he always makes the burgers himself with quality (read: expensive Chat Icon) meat from the butcher.

I personally don't care that much. The only thing I really don't like is store bought potato salad.

I make my own burgers, I wont make my own salads, I dont eat them so its hard to tell what they should taste like. Also DH prefers store mac salad because its made with salad dressing and not mayo.

Re: If you are throwing a BBQ (having guests over)

I will not eat mush-meat, ie, prepackaged burgers. I really like making my own, even mini ones for kids.
I hate those awful buns too, I like bakery rolls.

OK, food snob here!!!!

My only exception is to get the burgers from a good butcher.

Topps will not enter my home........DH thinks that's snobbish....whatever, he eats good!
