If you converted from oil to gas...
did the gas company do alot of damage to the road, sidewalk, or other property when they installed the gas line?
I know damge will be done, just trying to get an understanding of how bad it is. Did they tear up your sidewalk? Our line will be on the side of the house that doesn't have the driveway-so I was happy we will not have to replace that, but I was wondering about the sidewalk.
Thanks!

Re: If you converted from oil to gas...
There is damage on top of the road. It's a 3X5 cut right on top of the line on the road. They removed the grass on the sidewalk on the side of my house (not the sidewak... just the grass between the sidewalk and the road). It's about the same size. They patched up the road. They put dirt back where grass was.
They drilled underground between those 2 holes and then drilled again underground from the sidewalk (the grassy part) and the side of my house. They removed the grass too (3ftx3ft) on the side of my house. I just need to reseed. They don't tear the whole road or sidewalk.

Thank you. I was wondering if we would need to make plans to get the sidewalk fixed right away.
I am just so happy they will be tearing up the grass and not the driveway, we aren't ready to shell out money for that yet

We used Burner King and that's one of the things we asked.
I also asked the gas company when they came for an initial inspection prior to doing the work.

Our estimated date from National Grid is October 2nd, so I should just call them to verify. I had them on the phone the other day and didn't think to ask them.

Did they come to your house yet? They will do a physical check before they do the work. We have a gated backyard so I know they came, I had to open the gate for the lady.

They have b/c there are new paint lines on the street in front of the house and when they called the lady told me where the meter would be.

No damage at all, I'm guessing bc we already had a line to the house. We used A Montilli Plumbing. They were so neat you would never have known we had any work done.

Did your plumber do the work outside? The gas company did for us.
