If you could have dinner ANYWHERE in NYC - where would you go?

Need to make a reservation for Saturday night - Kind of want to something other than the usual Morton's or whatever .........

DH isn't into Sushi or anything too 'different' (ie: I love Cuban, he won't eat it - etc)

I'm looking fish, Italian, Steak .........something picky eater friendly -

TIA !!

Plataforma Churrascaria - it's a Brazillian steakhouse. Absolutely delicious.

Anywhere is tough because there are always new restaurants I want to try...but if I'm going by places I've been...Marc Joseph's. Great steak.

I've always been a huge fan of Gramercy Tavern and Mario Batali's Babbo.

Churrascaria is amazing! their salad bar is to die for.

I want to try this kitschy restaurant downtown called Ninja.

Ninja NY

I'm also wanting to go to Masa but that's mostly sushi. I hear Porter House is fantastic (both in Time Warner Center)

Acapella in Tribeca, Bouley, Son Cubano,

DH loves Wolfgang's if you're looking for steak.

i find a lot of my restaurant rec's in NY Magazine by sorting by price and critics pick. HTH and let us know where you goooo! :D I love food!NY Mag

For old times sake:

La Paella

DH and I used to go here all the time when we were in the east village. Their sangria is delish, their tortilla espanol is moist (not dry like most places) and their chorizitos are to die for.

Steak- Del Frisco or The Palm

I love for just a variety of food a restaurant on the UES - "Sojourn". This is our fan new restuarant near are apt. It is small though

Sojourn

Seafood- "Blue Water Grill". I love this place!!

Re: If you could have dinner ANYWHERE in NYC - where would you go?

Well *I* would go to Nobu bc DH and I love sushi and we haven't been.

But since that is out...

Bar Americain--one of Bobby Flay's restaurants, a steak&seafood place but with a twist--not your average Morton's or whatever.

China Grill--if your DH likes chinese this place has good food and a cool ambiance

One if by Land, Two if by Sea--this place is supposed to be awesome and very romantic

Blue Water Grill-I I lvoe this place, great food, nice setting

I got my parents a gift certificate there last year and they really weren't crazy about it. I think there are much better restaurants. You should go to Daniel. It is amazing. Bar Americain is good but not great. Same with Babbo IMO. We also really liked Buddakhan which is more trendy and fun.

I agree on Le Bernadin
Also, loved Grammercy Tavern
Gotham Bar and Grill

For Italian I like :
Da Silvano
Peasant

For less "upscale" dinners and on my list of places to go to in the next few months

Momofuku
Spotted Pig
