If you could leave the hospital 24 hrs later, would you?

I did with DC #1 and #2....I'm thinking maybe I should stay the 2nd day just to get some rest this time around BUT I hate not being at home

Id milk my insurance for all it would cover. However long I can stay in the hospital, I plan on it.

DH made me say 4 days with DD. Although I hated being there, I couldn't have gone home within 1 day

Definitely! I got no rest in the hospital when I had DD. Would much rather be at home in my own bed recovering.

I went home as soon as I could with Ella, which was about 36 hours after delivery (I had her in the middle of the night).

I left within 24 hrs with DD #1 and #2 and plan on doing the same with DD#3 I got no rest @ the hospital do whatever you are comfortable with

I don't want to squirt out a baby and leave within a day. I imagine my nether regions will look like roadkill afterwards...

I'm staying as long as insurance pays for it

I have no idea how crappy I am going to feel post delivery.

If I feel good and is healthy - I'd leave. I'd much rather recuperate at home versus a hospital.

YES!!!! I hated being in the hospital. I got no rest at all.

No way. I was in no condition to take care of myself let alone a baby after I gave birth. I had a c-section but even so your body needs some rest. Once your home there is NO rest. Let the doctors and nurses help out for the first couple of days.

We must have been asked a thousand times if we were staying the second night and they were so glad when we would say YES!
The actually recomend it!

No, I will be having a repeat c-section. I will be staying 5 days and 4 nights. I already have the $500 fee for the private room- tucked in an envelope in my sock drawer.

If I can't have a private room, I will probabaly go home sooner.

I am having a repeat c-section so I will stay the required 5 days, 4 nights (or whatever it is!). I HATE that I have to leave DS for that long but if this is anything like having him, I will need the rest alone

I refuse to pay for a private room so I'll be counting the minutes until I can leave. I hate hospitals.

If I have a natural delivery with no complications I will leave as soon as possible.

Nope. I had a c and stayed the full four days. I did spike a 104 fever so I didn't have much of a choice but I planned to stay as long as they would have me even before that.

with my first csection i stayed the four nights...this time around, i was asked if i wanted to go home after the third night and i opted to bc i missed my little guy at home so much (his meltdown in the hospital didn't help me much! )....that being said though, i would probably stay if i had to do it all over again. when i came home that thursday afternoon i was exhausted and having my 21 month old to attend to while having to get up in the middle of the night with a newborn was more than i expected it to be. you should do whatever you are most comfortable with though!

Nope.... I had a c/s, and the nurses were the ones telling me to stay an extra day... b/c i wanted to come home.... I'm glad I listened to them b/c the following day I wound up feeling like shyt!

I will be spending the full 4 days 3 nights again with my next delivery since I will have to have c/s again.

Yes...the 1st time around I was anxious to get home & have DD all to ourselves (she was in NICU)...I had her Sat. night (CS) & got discharged Tues. am....we could have stayed until Wed, but I was anxious to go home.

This time, I'd milk it for all I can...nice to be taken care of & have nurses helping w/ DC. I loved my experience at the hospital
