if you could run away for a day...
if you could ask for a day off from work... AND not tell your significant other...
what would you do for your day??
now, you can't spend the day at home because it would be found out!
how would you play hookie?
to answer my own question:
i would do a little shopping, run a few easy errands, and then i would spend the rest of the day reading and knitting
or i might catch a movie
what would you do?
remember: no kids no hubby
let's pretend for a moment

I'd do it on a day when the Union Square Greenmarket is open and stay there for a bit...then head up to Central Park and take a long walk.
No, wait...I'd do that in reverse so I didn't have to carry a bunch of stuff.
Oh, and go to the Strand to buy books.

Does this include grabbing an early am flight to Florida returning by midnight??
If not, I would go for an early walk at the beach, grab a cup of coffee afterwards, then maybe head over to the outlets for some stress-free browsing. I would thoroughly enjoy blasting awesome music while driving to these places. Dinner would be a spur of the moment decision.
Ahhhh freedom.

I would drive out to montauk (stopping at different farm stands/boutiques/antique stores along the way) sit on the beach with my kindle and read. I would probably also go to the movies at night and go see a movie that I know DH would hate.

if money were no object, i would spend the day at a spa getting pampered, followed by shopping with a stylist, and ending with a lobster thermidor at a stand-up comedy show.

This is exactly what I do 2-3x a year with another girlfriend who has kids.
We play "hooky" from work, our husbands, and kids for one day when both our calendars are clear.

This 100%. And I def need more then one day. I asked DH the other day if he would be mad if I went away on vacation by myself. Maybe to someplace like Arizon to those spa/wellness places. To do yoga for a few days, have a chef make healthy meals for me and relax. The scary part is we don't have children yet!

this. Except I'd drink wine and watch the waves and sunset instead of read. Maybe get a room so I could take a long bubble bath with no interruptions and read a magazine in the tub with a glass of wine and take a nap before I head back home

Come home and shower without having to rush!
Pamper myself with a mani/pedi and massage.
Go to lunch with a friend.
Then shop for myself! Try on clothes alone

Outlets and target - always have the kids with me and they pick up so much stuff AND need tons of bathroom breaks...I could go all day without eating or bathroom breaks if I was on a shopping spree
