Re: If you got a convertible crib please come in - RANT
Mine just converts into a day bed, not a full conversion to a toddler bed, but it does have a side rail with the small opening to climb in and out of. I didn't buy it back in early 2007 when I got the crib. In July I went to Behrs for the CPR class and DS and I decided to order while we were there. The guy behind the counter said, "Uh Oh, this one is backordered for MONTHS. I have people waiting 6 months now." He looked it up and said he couldn't believe it, they had one in stock in our color. I thought it was gonna be a return that had problems. So, I went to pick it up the next day and a different salesman looks at my receipt and says, "How did you get one of these? People have been waiting months for these to come in." I guess I just got lucky that no one likes the color finish I picked. I took it home and there was nothing wrong with it.
Lesson learned: I got lucky this time, but if I order a new crib in the future, GET EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME!

Re: If you got a convertible crib please come in - RANT
The salesperson at Behrs discouraged me from buying the conversion pieces when I bought my set . I think it was because he knew that I had my eye on 2 different sets and I was less likely to buy the more expensive one if I had to add the cost of the rails at the time of purchase. So, he sold me the more expensive set and he knows that I will look for him as a salesperson when I come back. Maybe I should order it soon!!!

Interesting. I bought my stuff at Behrs as well. The salesman told me to register my stuff with the manufacturer and that they would notify me of their intent to discontinue so I could order the conversion kit before they ran out.
What brand and style is your crib?? It sounds like others might need a serious heads up.

OMG.. I bought my convertible crib back in 2006 and I never bought my rails. I just know they're not going to have it anymore. I've been procrastinating calling BRU. I will probably call them tonight because of this post. thank you.
same here

OK I am sooo confused. We have convertable crib and I have no idea what you ladies are talking about what rails? For what? Our crib came with some rails, that I put away since we don't need them now. Is that what you guys are talking about? Or is there something else I don't know about?

The side rails that connect the headboard to the footboard.
