If you got a Rhogam shot...
Where did you get it? With my DS I got it right in my doctor's office, but I switched practices and this time they gave me a prescription and said I had to go to the hospital as a walk in to get it done. Before the hospital will give me the shot they have to take blood and wait for the results which takes 45 min to an hour. I don't understand why they need more blood. They also just told me this today and said I have to get it done by my 28th week and I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. They couldn't have given me the prescription when I was there 2 weeks ago?

I got it in the drs office.....I had to get the script filled and bring it with me to my appt. as far as the blood test--maybe they are confirming you are rh- without any antibodies?? I know I had bloodwork done at my drs office the visit before i got the shot, but i'll be honest, i don't remember what it was for.

I got mine at the MD too. She gave me the Rx in mid-December so I had time to fill it and bring it back during my 28th wk.

I had an appointment on a Thursday, I had blood drawn at the dr's office for antibodies testing (I think to confirm that I needed the shot), and went back to the dr on Monday to get the shot.

I am getting it in early February, they have the shot in the Dr's office. Don't have to do anything. Already took blood.

not a stupid question....its a shot for those of us who are RH negative so that if the baby is RH positive we don't make antibodies against it

I got the Rhogam shot in the Dr. office. They even called in the prescription and it was delivered directly to them.

The doctor gave me a prescription, I picked it up at the pharmacy on my way to my next appt & the dr gave me the shot.

I got mine done in the doctors office. I know he said he needed my glucose results back before they could give me the shot...maybe that's the bloodwork they are talking about.

I got one at around 17 weeks because I had some bleeding and my doctor was afraid of my blood mixing with the baby's. That one was done right at my doctor's office. I'm told that I'll have to have another one in a couple of weeks since I'm RH negative...I'm not sure where that will be done yet.

I got my first one at 10 weeks b/c I was staining. I was told I'd get my next one at 28 weeks and then one at delivery (only needed if the baby does indeed have a positive blood type--always the chance that my husband may be carrying a recessive negative gene)....
