If you had an anterior placenta did it move for you?
When I had my 12 weeks sono the sono dr said I have an anterior placenta. She said it might move to the back during my pregnancy otherwise my OB will have to be careful not to cut it when I have my Csection. If you had an anterior placenta, did it move for you?

I don't believe anterior placenta moves. I had it with both my pregnancies, and it was a non issue. I had a csection with my second and again, it wasn't an issue.

Eta: it will just take longer for you to feel the baby moving

They do move! I didn't know that until I googled it. http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/anterior-placenta.aspx I just don't know what the likely hood of it moving is. She said right not it's pretty low. If it moves lower then I could have placenta previa but it's still to early to tell. Hopefully it will move to the posterior position. Also, if the dr has to cut through the placenta they have to work faster because it will cut off oxygen to the baby and cause excessive bleedign to the mother.

Hmmm, my Doctor says it can't move Anyways, mine sits on top and hasn't caused any issues. I didn't feel him till later on and I don't think his kicks/jabs are as strong since I have the placenta directly above him. My Doctor says its no big deal.

Sorry my DH corrected me. It does move but it moves with the baby. It will stay in the same type of location to the baby, but it moves as he moves. Now I guess it makes sense.

Re: If you had an anterior placenta did it move for you?
I have an anterior placenta with this PG. It is possible that it could move up or down but will probably stay anterior. Basically, this is where the embryo attached in your uterus and this is where the placenta formed. I was told that there is no reason for concern during c-section delivery but they will monitor the exact location of the placenta as delivery gets closer. The main thing for me was that it took much longer for me to feel this baby kick than for my first.

Thanks! I don't care if I don't feel the baby's movement till later in the pregnancy. I'm more concerned about placenta accreta. Since I had a cs for my first I'm at a higher risk. I hope it moves up away from the scar and where they have to operate.

Re: If you had an anterior placenta did it move for you?
I have an anterior placenta and it has prevented me from seeing my baby's face clearly. If it moved, it moved with the baby because all my sono pics are the same. I did'nt feel solid movements until after 20 weeks.
