How long did it take to get your DC's blood work results if you had them test their blood for allergies rather than a prick test?

Also if they had almost all of the results did they call and give them to you or did they make you wait until 100% of them were in.

It's usually about 2 weeks. We had DS's blood drawn on Friday April 22 and the allergist called me yesterday to say the results are in.

She won't talk about anything over the phone so we're going in on Monday to get the results. Totally annoying, I keep thinking about switching practices but this one is super convenient to my house.

Same here. It took about 2 weeks and we had to go in for the results. At that time we discussed the results, the severity, his epi-pen & what we needed to do to keep ds safe. Good luck Chat Icon

The specifics of the results took about 2 weeks (we went in for an appointment to go over Epi Pens and such), but I got a phone call about 24 - 48 hours after the bloodowrk was in to telling us what to avoid in the meantime.

Well we have been seeing the doctor for a while - but he said no more than 1 week for the results - when they drew DD's blood at the lab the lab said 2-3 days so that they doctor should have the results by Friday. I called monday and they said they had all but 2 results and they were sitting on the nurses desk but those weren't the most important resultsChat Icon the main ones were in the nurse reviews THEN gives it to the doctor. They won't call you to tell you the results until they are 100% in. We don't have to go back in now (although when we made the appt they wouldn't give us the blood work 1st so I could get it done before her appt - since all he did was check her for hives - which she hasn't had in weeks) - they made it sound like they did it at their office but then they didn't draw it when we were there.

Doesn't really matter too much now anyway - today was DD"s last class bday party for a while and she missed out again anyway.

See people at school keep telling me - what you don't have your results yet? We got ours in about 3-4 days - (her class has 6 children with epi pens out of 18). She has been on an elimination diet for almost 3.5 months now - and the allergist said he figured there was a good chance the results would be negative anyway (he thinks it could be a preservative or dye which they can't test for).

I got impatient and called after one week. They told me they're still waiting on one result. She gave me the results for all but one because it was negative. If the other comes back positive I will need an appointment to come in an discuss with the dr.
