Infant skin testing for allergies
Anyone have their infant skin tested for food allergies? Just wondering what to expect.

Re: Infant skin testing for allergies
Not yet Do you know how many things they're testing him for?
DS is about 14 1/2 months old & had anaphylactic reactions after eating both yogurt & eggs so his allergist just gave him a blood test to gauge how bad the 2 are. The tests confirmed that he's highly allergic to both. Unless any other allergies appear, he's holding off on skin testing until he's 2 y/o. For now we carry an epi-pen & worry

Re: Infant skin testing for allergies
Gavin was skin tested for all allergies because he weezed and needed to get surgery. We went to Dr. WEiss in Syosset. It was like a brush that went on his skin on his back..he didnt even flinch. Then we waited like 15 minutes for a reaction. It was so quick and the hardest part was trying to keep an 8 month old from getting down and crawling along the floor ewww hahaha

Re: Infant skin testing for allergies
DD is 4.5 months. I don't know what they are going to test for, but I would assume at least dairy, soy and eggs (those are the suspects at the moment). My appointment is tomorrow, so I guess I will know more then
