My Mom had an altima for years and had no problems with it whatsoever!
However, she did find the service department at Nissan to be lacking.
I just wanted to add - if you are thinking of having  &  's while you would still have this car, I would definitely opt for the Camry. I think it has a much larger trunk. Something to think about for the stroller!
DH's cousin just got a Camry & loves it. he & his wife are TTC too!!!

I was also on the fence about both but the deciding factor was that the Altima was better looking then the Camry. Especially now. I love the new model
I have had mine for over 2 yrs and never had 1 problem with it!! I love it. I am getting the Nissan Quest next

Alitma, hands down...it looks better and the interior is very nice
I agree - plus, they are totally built to last. Never heard of a Nissan having issues.

I think both cars are VERY reliable....all foreign cars seem to hold up better than any american...IMO.
Both Toyota and Nissan will last you a lifetime, I think it is just a matter of test driving both and see what you like better.
Like I said I have a Altima and LOVE it.
My first car was a Sentra and it was a 1984 and lasted well over 200,000 miles and was still running great when I sold it.
DH also had a 1990 Toyota pick up and he loved it and ran it to the ground and was still in GREAT condition when he sold it.

Both cars are reliable. I would say from past experience with both nissan and toyota to go with the Camry. Hands down it is a better car. Much better build quaility and reliability. Motor trends car of the year too.
My brother has an 03 XLE V6 Camry with 80k miles on it and he has not had one problem with the car. My cousin just told me that his 2000 Camry hit 100k miles and he never had a problem.
I can go on and on..At one time there was 13 camry's in my family. Everyone had at least one.
I am sure you will be fine with what ever car you choose, because you are only leasing the car. Two ro Three years should be trouble free....

We're also a loyal Toyota family.
But my DH and my dad have had Nissans in the past that were nothing but headaches. So we stick to Toyotas.

me too.
I strayed once from Toyota and leased a very fu-fu shi-shi imported (European) luxury car  well it was a nightmare. So many times at the dealersip I knew everyone who worked there
I went back to Toyota and will NEVER stray again. If they stop making cars and only make scooters well I'll be on a scooter

I would go with an Altima. Why? Because I still drive the Nissan Altima I bought in 1998 - almost ten years ago - and I have had no problems at all other than regular wear and tear type part replacements. It's been great.
DH had a Nissan Altima at the same time I did (he had it before we met). He put something like 200K on it and it was the same - really no issues.
DH got a Pathfinder in 2004 or 2005 (i forget which) and again, we've had no problems.
We are big Nissan supporters bc of our experience with three cars -- I don't think that can be a fluke!

I LOVE the Altima. I am looking at it right now. We are thinking of getting a new car by the end of summer for me.
My mom has a camry and so does my MIL and they both love their camry's.

I have the Camry Solara and love it. It is a great car. It is really roomy inside. I get about 25-30 miles per gallon of gas.
