if you had to do the 24 hour urine collection .. tmi questions..
so ive been doing this all day (fun  ). and i am SERIOUSLY intimidated by the jug. i literally have gotten it like 5% full. from a full day. is that normal?? im not a big pee-er to begin with, even with pregnancy. i tried to drink more water this evening but i guess it hasnt caught up with me yet cause every time i go it barely dents the GIGANTIC jug. it kinda reminds me of (infertility girls, you know what im about to say) the XL cup they give to DH's for SA's and sperm collection.... i feel like i inadequately barely fill up the bottom... is this normal??
i cant believe i am actually slightly concerned by this..

You have what you have...they are testing your protein...I remember the first weekend only using one jug,...they had me increase my water intake due to low-ish levels of amniotic fliuid and then one week, I filled 2 large jugs and I ran out of space! Don't freak out...just go when you go, use the jug and keep it in the fridge until you bring it to the dr. (it was way fun to pee and then run to the fridge either before of after to have the jug with you..)

I can't remember how full it was when I turned mine in after 24 hours, but it definitely wasn't near the top. You're not supposed to drink any more water than usual because then it will dilute the sample and not be your "normal" urine. Also, FYI I got different answers about whether or not to put it in the fridge... some said yes, some said no. I kept mine in our garage, which was cold enough. They said keeping it cold is just so it doesn't get really smelly. So, if you didn't have it in the fridge, don't worry about it.  .

I have no experience with this, but did get a chuckle out of the "XL cup" thing....it's true!! Makes you feel like "OMG, where is the rest?!"

I just did this a couple of weeks ago and also did it with Ds#1 (twice)...definitely not fun. However I didn't fill the jug any of those times. Like PP said...you get what you get. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I've done it twice as well, and never filled it anywhere near the top.
Also ITA with the PP re: keeping in the fridge. I was told it's not necessary. Same with how much you drink -- drink your normal amount so you don't dilute it.
The only tip I did get was to buy a big plastic measuring cup, and pee directly into that -- then pour into the jug. So much easier -- you don't want to lose any pee because they are measuring output too.
