If you pump, how much milk do you produce at each session?
I'm trying to pump every 2-3 hours and I feel like I'm getting almost nothing....maybe 2 oz per breast. Is that very low?

That's great!!! It took me until about 5 months to get 2oz per side, at 7 months the most I get is 3oz one on side and 2 on the other. Looks like you've got a great supply and your body takes to the pump well.

Re: If you pump, how much milk do you produce at each session?
Milk production works on the supply/demand theory. The greater the demand, the greater the supply. Newborns eat very little at each nursing session, and accordingly your body produces only what the child needs. As the baby grows and needs more (and eats more), your body will produce more.
Don't stress over how many ounces you get. Be happy you are able to pump, and know that as time goes on it will increase.

Re: If you pump, how much milk do you produce at each session?
I was pumping about that much too in the beginning, each session I would pump at best 4 oz total.... on a good pump... I often had to supplement at least one bottle with formula. At around 7 weeks I started pumping significantly more. Enough so that I started a freezer stash- it also coincided with my DD dropping one night time feed. I have no idea how or why it happened but it just increased on its own.
Drink lots of water/fluids and massage your boobies while you pump. it helps!!

Re: If you pump, how much milk do you produce at each session?
I am getting way less then you! In the morning I get about 3oz combined and then each pump after that decreases...last night my last pump of the night (around 11pm) I only got about half an ounce.
