If you scheduled/will schedule your baby's birthday...
do you feel sort of weird about it? Or no, you feel great and "in control" of the whole thing?
I had to do this yesterday and it was such an odd feeling. I went into labor with my older DD and even though my younger DD was a scheduled c-section, I had no choice of the date--basically they just scheduled it for me ON my due date (which seemed to me like a "God created" date anyhow...).
But this time, I had a choice of two dates and the date of the later one *sounded* more appealing to me , but the first one works out SO much better with my DH and my DDs' schedules...so it will be that date almost certainly.
So, is it weird, or is it me??? I'm probably just freaking that I'm going to have THREE kids in a month!

I loved getting to "pick" my date. To me, that was one of the only fringe benefit of having a scheduled C. Because I got to pick the date, my daughter was born 07/08/09!

I have felt the same way. I know I am going to have a scheduled c-section with these twins. And I think there is a chance it could be April 11th (4-11-11). And to me that's a weird day.

Re: If you scheduled/will schedule your baby's birthday...
Mine was scheduled for 1 week before my due date but if that petiucular day wasnt good for some reason my OB said we could sway by a day or 2 so in essence we did have a choice of sorts...
My ended up putting me into labor a few hours before my scheduled c-section anyway, so now I know that was the date she was meant to come

Re: If you scheduled/will schedule your baby's birthday...
Yes, I just had my baby via a scheduled c-section last week and when while she was crying in the OR I said to her that I knew it wasn't her idea to come out today.
When I scheduled the CS I was hoping that I would go into labor on my own before the scheduled c-section date. I also was hoping for a VBAC but that didn't happen.

Re: If you scheduled/will schedule your baby's birthday...
With my first we scheduled a c-section but went into labor the night before, with my second we scheduled it a little bit earlier so I didn't go into labor first. It was the weirdest thing. It had nothing with the control part of it, but it was so strange to know that I was going to have the baby in the morning. My DH and I dropped off my older son at daycare and walked out saying to ourselves, we're off to have a baby! It was SO weird. Then when we got to the hospital, and we walked into labor and delivery and the nurses were all standing there waiting for us. It didn't seem real or the natural way to have a baby, but it was the way I HAD to have my babies. It was just weird. The whole process. Hohpefully I'll go through it again and I won't go into labor again this time so I can have the doctor I want perform the c-section.

OK, glad I'm not totally overthinking it! But as I was tossing and turning all night long (insomnia!!!), I realized, not only am I choosing the date, I'm also choosing the astrological sign...Libra vs. Scorpio!

so funny....my ds is 08/09/10
I actually requested the 9th and was told they were all booked up and was given the 11th. Got my way anyway...my water broke at 11:00pm on the 8th. I took my sweet time getting to the hospital to make sure it was 08/09/10

Re: If you scheduled/will schedule your baby's birthday...
I got to pick DDs birthday. I chose 9/29 simply because entering kindergarten where we live has a cut off of 10/1. So if she was born on 10/1 she would have to wait another year to enter kindergarten, but being born on 9/29 would let her have the option of entering and being the youngest in the class. I want the ability to evaluate her on her own to determine when she should go to school rather than have some arbitrary date determine when she can go to school.
