If you see a house for sale on MLSLI with a price range....
Is that safe to "assume" it's a short sale?
Sold "as is".

You mean you would assume from the price range it's a short sale? That doesn't mean that at all. At lot of realtors list using a range. As is doesn't mean short sale either. Could be an estate sale, could just be as is.

nope! We had out condo listed in a range and it was just so that when people searched it would come up as an option for more potential buyers!

usually when I house is listed with a range it's b/c the realtor and home owner don't agree on the price
or the owner wont take lower the the lower price
I would not assume it was a short sale- but any realtor can look it up
and if you have listingbook it will tell you if it's a short sale

Our first REA talked us into the range to get more people in. A house had just sold using a range and they got a bidding war.
